Just echoing what everyone's saying about Iris - keeping her out of the loop at this point is just plain nonsense.

My guess is that they're setting Eddie up to be a bad guy and/or get body-swapped by Wells/Thawne.

And yes, Felicity is so much more delightful on this show than she is on Arrow.

Fun episode. A little disappointed Atom stayed normal size, but whatever. I liked Routh as Ray.

I wish they would just tell Iris already. Her character is getting worse each week. She's such a buzzkill.

Got bored and watched this. Ugh. Barry Allen isn't that imaginative in the show as he is in the comics w/ his powers in getting an easy solution. Especially w/ such a weak foe in this episode. That and the writing. Why couldn't he just.... RUN away? Or spin like crazy to get them to not be able to attack him? This production really needs to think of what Allen can and cannot do. This show needs better writing. Also... has the Atom even gotten to shrink in Arrow maybe?

I like the show, but the basic problem with the Flash's powers is that they're far, far too powerful for almost any opponent, even a superpowered one, to deal with if he acts intelligently. Drama requires he be stupid.

Supposedly he's going to shrink, it's just a matter of when. It would be kind of pointless if he didn't.

This isn't exactly Luke and Leia territory, or Game of Thrones. Come off it.

Still not totally understanding why Reverse Flash (RF) needed to take Well's place. Why not just set up a company as himself? Also, I wonder if he is just inhabiting Well's body. Most of the time, it is Well's we see. Then RF can take control when needed. Maybe some of the RF's personality is bleeding over to explain why Well's seemed so different to others. Unless they are firing the actor, maybe Flash will find a way to separate Well's from RF.
Probably the fact that he's from the future, as no money, and Harrison Wells was going to be making it soon would be pretty good reasons.

I thought the idea was to get the Particle Accelerator made a few years earlier.

I imagine they will save his shrinking power for that new show next season when the Atom will be a featured star.

These producers have been pretty responsive to fan complaints, I imagine they've heard all the Iron Man clone talk.

What is everyone's problem with Atom not shrinking just yet? They only just fucking introduced him on Arrow as Palmer only a couple episodes ago. Not to mention, as noted above, he's getting his own show.

The producers said he isn't going to shrink. They can always changed their minds. I recall them saying they wouldn't have any plowers on the show and look at where we are now. They originally wanted Blue Beetle but they weren't allowed to use him so they just made him like Blue Beetle like Arrow is like Batman.

I've never seen a TV show do a costume of this level of ambition before. He's got a lot of cool tricks up his sleeve. People who are immediately expecting him to shrink are going to be disappointed. I will say that upfront.
So, never say never.:D

they should have just fucking gone with ted kord. At least that way we could have some Blue and Gold tom foolery in the all star team up show that is to come.

Because that's what the Atom has traditionally done. It's as bad as Smallville were Clark Kent could not fly. Right now this Atom is just Iron Man lite.

BIG difference is that Atom doesn't have his own show and JUST got introduced on someone else's show - he's more of an Easter Egg than anything else, like 2 episodes ago. I guarantee you that he'll shrink on the first or second episode of his own show.

But it's also out of character for the show. For all it's flaws the show has generally been true to at least the spirit of the characters that were introduced. Huntress, Slade Wilson, Deadshot, Ra's al Ghul, Cupid, Bronze Tiger, Malcolm Merlyn all at least bare more than a passing similarity to the comic book characters many of us grew up with and it's rubbing most of us the wrong way. To anyone that has read DC comics, this is not Ray Palmer - he's Ted Kord - a vastly more popular and beloved character than the Atom. I know why they haven't used Blue Beetle (we have beaten it to death) but by not at least given the Atom his signature power it makes it glaring to comic book readers. Furthermore, to a mainstream viewer, it looks like they are ripping off Iron Man. If he gets the power on the next show to the greater audience it will look like they are ripping off Ant-Man (which is being released this summer). Basically, it's poor planning and probably a result of writers moving to the Flash and producers/show runners splitting time between new projects.

Looked like the whole point was to reveal that it was the bee robots that gave him the inspiration to go miniature in the near future. May not jive with the comic books, but it works for me.

Didn't they reference the white dwarf star matter at some point on Arrow for Ray Palmer? I remember that for some reason. That wasn't dropped into dialogue for nothing. That is the classic comic book explanation for the Atom's powers.

DC should have relented and let them have Blue Beetle. It's possible they are saving the character for a possible movie role, though I have a strong hunch it would be the Jaime Reyes version.

Yeah they did when Ray bought that mine half a season ago.

You're really best off to stop reconciling this show with the comics and allow it to be its own thing.

Don't know shit about the comics and loving every minute of the show. The mix of action, heart and lightheartedness is a perfect blend.

I also didn't care that he froze when it came to the bees. He's a kid and has been the Flash for a half a second. He's still learning.

I agree and the comics spoilers and comic bickering should be in their own thread, it is really annoying. Discuss the show, not what you want the show to be based on spoiler-y comic knowledge you have. I really wish mods would police this better.

Re: The Flash (S1E18) -- "All-Star Team-Up" -- 4/14/15

I think there's room for both what's on screen and what has been either taken from the comics or modified towards a television medium.

It's not like they're specifically following some story arc, so it's simply comparing the two formats and how they have transitioned the characters to the screen. Should book talk be kept separate from a film translation of said book?
