Hope my expectations aren't too high based on what we've been told of episode 9 as mentioned in previous threads.

Wow, what an awesome episode. So many little things done so well. Their ability in just a few scenes to show just how formidable HHM really is. How Hamlin seems so evil, yet might not really be. Loved the flip side of Heisenberg where a family guy, beaks bad and is not really cut out for it. Fan service or not, the bodyguard scene was just pure awesome-sauce. And the final scene really paid off everything leading up to it this season. I truly thought this show would be terrible, but man if it isn't right on BBs level. After next week, we have the pain of a GOT-like wait for next season. At least that one will be 13. Maybe the one after will be 16 and they can divide it like Walking Dead.

Damn stabbed in the back by his own brother. Pretty rough on Chuck's part especially considering all the stuff that Jimmy was doing for him and that he was trying to turn over a new leaf. It seemed obvious when he made the call that's where things were leading but I didn't pick up on Chuck being the one wanting Jimmy held back all along. I guess maybe this partially answers the question of what becomes of the relationship between Jimmy and Chuck.
The scenes with Mike were cool too. I wonder if the parking ramp is the same one or not. It could be for fan service but yet who knows as most aren't that different. The straight laced guy doing the deal but didn't belong in that situation was a nice flip on Walt I agree.

damn, Mike is one stone cold badass.
I sort of suspected all along it was Chuck, because you could see it in his face when Jimmy told him about his law degree. Sucks that his own brother screwed him over.
I watched the previews for next week and the only thing I can think of now is

Wow. That was heartbreaking. There were the telltale signs from Chuck, but I didn't want to believe it could be true. At least it was nice that Kim went to bat for Jimmy.
The Mike stuff was great. We all knew how it would go down with the other 'toughs' but it was still done very well. Same with the actual exchange.
One more episode? Sigh...

Kind of started feeling it was Chuck at the beginning of the episode; as bad as it sounds, I don't necessarily blame him for feeling the way he did. Jimmy really doesn't feel like he fits the corporate lawyer type, especially somewhere like HHM, let alone getting a pass just because of his brother. Still, tough to watch Jimmy get betrayed like that.

That's bullshit. Yeah, he may not have worked his nose to the stone in getting a degree, but he is a damn great lawyer. Chuck was being extremely hard on him and all Jimmy seemed to have wanted was the approval of his brother for the longest time.
Man, that was some amazing television.

This show is just so freaking good. As soon as his lady friend tried to get him to take the deal I knew it was Chuck. Also it probably was Chuck that screwed him out of a job in firm in the first place.

So Chuck didn't want Jimmy to become a chimp with a machine gun, but by blocking his attempt at being a real, legitmate lawyer, Chuck ended up giving the chimp the machine gun.

no probably about it. Hamlin has been the tool used to keep Jimmy down by Chuck this whole time. Hell, in the flash back when Jimmy goes to Chuck with the news, it takes him a few seconds to respond to Jimmy's question about if he was proud of him.
It's all sorts of fucked up.
