Re: Pretty Little Liars (S5E17) -- "The Bin of Sin" -- 1/27/15
It was so obvious the chef was interested in Emily. Tanner is going to try to put the Liars in jail.

I enjoyed this episode, even though it was slow paced. Good to see Hanna hitting Holbrook, but we all know that it will haunt her later on. Mike is looking suspicious and Mona's redhead friend is probably hiding details from the girls.

The new redhead Lesli is up to no good. Mike leaving candy for someone we've already seen? Emily and the new chef need to just get together already.

Senior high school students focus on their future college careers and feel the high pressures that come along with it, and Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer are no different. Also having college acceptance anxiety, Spencer decides to take a break and help Jonny with a new project. Meanwhile, Aria and the girls concerns about Mike increase after an incident at the school blood drive.

Mike is getting shadier as the season goes on. The stuff with Spencer and tenant Jonny was boring. I think A will blackmail Spencer later on for her involvement in that vandalism. Hanna's dad is an asshole in my opinion for paying for a stepchild's college education over his own daughter. The reveal about the chef being married was a bit lame, but I also suspect that the chef isn't telling the whole truth about why she stayed with her husband.

Pretty Little Liars (S5E20) -- "Pretty Isn't the Point" -- 2/17/15
Determined to get college tuition money without the help of others, Hanna pushes forward with her quest to win the local beauty pageant and hires a pageant coach to ensure her win. Quickly learning that you have to be more than a pretty face to win the grand prize, Hanna turns to Emily for help. Also needing a little help, Aria asks Andrew to help keep tabs on Mike, whose increasingly suspicious behavior suggests a chilling connection to Mona's death. What Aria ultimately discovers makes her blood run cold.
Meanwhile, Spencer decides to help Jonny on a less than legal adventure.

Good episode. But of course, there is probably more to Mike's activities and what happened to Mona. Hated the stuff with Spencer and Johnny.

I enjoyed the episode and Aria's study buddy is either red herring or an A minion. Interesting, how Talia the chef blackmailed that pageant lady.

Supposedly, they tell us who A is in 5 episodes. Unless the series is nearing its end, I assume this will be another red herring or one of the top minions.

The show is ending in season 7. But there are rumors that the final season 7 will be a shortened season. The EP of the show has said once A is revealed, the reasons will be given to why he or she is doing the things they are doing. My prediction is that the reveal at the end of this season will be a top minion.

I liked the premise of Ravenswood, but that show didn't take off partially because some PLL fans were pissed that Caleb was put on that show.

It's about f****** time. I'm not anywhere near the demographic for this show, but it does intrigue me from time to time. I have kinda given up on it since it's all about the red herring. At least Josh Whedon and Vince Gilligan knew how to give you some answers and still string you along. This show is like the boy who cried wolf.

I'm in the camp that thinks Big A won't be revealed. It'll be something about Big A, but not who it is. It would be hard to keep the show going for two more seasons if they reveal who it is now.

The only way we get the real A this season is if they plan to change the entire premise up over the next two seasons, which I highly doubt. I think Mona was intended to be A when introduced but fans were underwhelmed when they revealed her as the villain.
I will say the one character no one really suspects is Spencer's mother, she's one of the very few parents still regularly used as a character. While it wouldn't make perfect sense, it's enough out of left field to be a viable option. They have tried to throw more suspicion on Spencer's father, which I think is a red herring.

Pretty Little Liars (S5E22) -- "To Plea Or Not To Plea" -- 3/3/15
The girls scramble for evidence as Alison contemplates a plea deal that would incriminate one of the PLLs in “To Plea Or Not To Plea,” an all-new episode of ABC Family’s hit original series “Pretty Little Liars,” premiering Tuesday, March 3rd (8:00 – 9:00 PM ET/PT).
Aria, Emily and Hanna keep looking for a way to prove Ali’s innocence without incriminating Mike. But when the D.A. proposes a plea bargain agreement for Ali that includes naming one of the PLL’s as her accomplice, the girls intensify their search – not only to save Ali but to save themselves. Will Ali stick by her story of innocence, or will she give up one of the PLLs to save her own skin?
Meanwhile, not knowing what is happening back in Rosewood, Spencer gets a much needed break from all the drama with a night out on the town in London.

The progression is kinda-sorta similar in the books. In both the TV show and the books, Mona is revealed as A and is murdered, although the circumstances are wildly different. (Mona was dead in the books a couple years before the show premiered, although who's dead the books often bears no resemblance to who's around in the show.) There were a couple different As after Mona in the books, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same on the show. Will this #bigAreveal be any more definitive than it was when Mona was outed as A?
