So are Carl (and Chuckie) off the show now? Will they show them in juvie or keep them off the show until they're released?

Mickey and Ian are the best couple on TV right now. What a heartbreaking ending.

With all things Gallagher, I'm sure they have an out planned for Ian. I figure the Army will let him off the hook after they realize he's bipolar.

Yes, he signed up using Lip's name and identity because he was underage at the time.

That's most likely the beginning of his bipolar disorder; he was starting a manic phase when he did that.

I'd guess that the army might want to just let him off because the fact that they signed up an underage kid using a stolen identity with a mental illness and didn't catch it doesn't make them come off very good. Seems like a good out for the show to take at any rate.

They're telegraphing the Debbie shit fairly hard right now. Especially with beating us over the head with the birth control inability to work within the first 48 hours and her pointing out to not use protection.

I'd like to know the answer to the question posed to Frank at the bar - What's his scam? He doesn't do anything that isn't in his interest. So to show empathy for a dying girl just to appear good is out of character. He can't marry her and inherit her stuff because he's still married. Besides all she's got is probably a shit load of student loans.

Had the military really not known where he was all this time? For some reason, I thought they already addressed that a long time ago, so I was surprised when they showed up to take him away.

I didn't realize he was still on the run. It's not like they didn't know where his family lived, right?

Yea, I didn't know they were still looking for him. I thought that whole thing was resolved - but my memory could be faulty. In any case, how hard could it have been to find him at his family's home where he's been living his whole life?

Sammi's a bitch, but once again - I can't blame her. The family screwed her and her kid over. Plus we can see that very little gets done around the house without Sammi - so they can complain about her living there, but at least she was taking care of everyone.

Fiona's a skank and a horrible person - much like most/all of the characters on the show.

Glad we'll be seeing more of the doctor - although I don't like the idea of Frank being in love with her.

I thought it was funny that the "Previously On..." segment had her saying "I've been raising 5 kids, where have you been?" when they haven't even shown her in a scene with Liam all season long. Other than taking Debbie to get birth control has she had anything to do with raising the kids this season?

my heart sank when i saw Emily Bergl's name in the opening credits now. maybe it will be like Banshee and they keep the name in there after the character is dead to throw you off.

everyone knows you cannot get pregnant your first time, debs will be fine. if she really wants to be sure, she can stand on her head after they do it, so the sperm get confused.

The military didn't know who they were looking for; Ian signed up using Lip's identity. The MPs tracked Lip down, but realized he wasn't the one they were looking for and let him go. Lip didn't give Ian up to them.

Of course it wouldn't have been too difficult for them to look a little closer at the family and figure out it was Ian they were looking for. They know what their "Phillip Gallagher" looks like, so just looking at a school yearbook should have been enough to put them on his trail.
