While trying to secure their new home, Rick and his group face many challenges, some life threatening. Is this really the utopia it seems to be? Episode 14 of 16 |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
Well that escalated quickly.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
Looks like a lot of shades of grey (and not the book) type stuff is about to happen. Obviously Pete is somewhat off kilter, but Carol is turning into somewhat of a Lady Macbeth.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
The continued incompetence when they come across a group of contained walkers and just keep on going is getting old. Takes 2 minutes to kill them, then they can loot the warehouse in peace.
And I get that alexandria people are supposed to be cowards, but frankly if they are more cowardly than eugene, they would never even be allowed outside the walls (not that they would have survived to this point anyway). |

I'm assuming that Black Men on Walking Dead have long overtaken the redshirt-record on Star Trek by now. |

Directed by Jennifer Lynch, so... not too surprised at the slightly gorier deaths in this one. :)

Is Gabriel going nuts or is he just an asshole?
Either way, considering that he's content to sit around with his thumb up his ass while his peeps are getting eaten alive, he's perfect Alexandria material. Sorry to see Noah go out like that. Nicholas is a piece of shit. Good to see Eugene grow a pair. Hope Tara is okay. I like cute lesbians. |
Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
Noah wasn't on the show for long, but damn I think his death has got to be in the top 3 that have really affected me.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
So much stupidity in those warehouse scenes. I know they wanted to get in and get out quickly, but they've seen walkers break through fences with brute force before. Why not just have someone stand there at the fence and stab them through the fence? Would seem to be a pretty easy way to help make sure the walkers don't get through and attack you in the pitch black warehouse.
And what was with Glenn and Noah standing on the other side of the shelving and telling Eugene it was up to him to protect Tara? They know how useless he is and all they had to do was push the boxes out of the way to have a clean shot...and then Glenn and Noah both ended up jumping through anyway. Seemed silly for them to stand there helpless at first only to bust through seconds later. That said, I really liked how Eugene finally manned up and not only got Tara to safety, but also drew the attention away from the rest of the group and even stood up to Nicholas. These Alexandria people are really the worst though. It's hard to care what happens to them when we see them so willing to leave their own people behind to die. I honestly don't know how their community has survived as long as it has with how careless and stupid they are. Part of me wants to see Rick & Co. takeover just to teach them a lesson. I wish Glenn had just shot Nicholas there at the end. I know he's better than that, but that guy's a huge liability and could've gotten everyone (including Glenn) killed. Hopefully he's held accountable when he returns to Alexandra, but I doubt it. The nerve of Father Gabriel at the end...this is the same guy that turned his back on people by locking them outside the church so he could survive; the same guy who Rick and his group protected. I don't know why Rick's group ever brought him along in the first place. Damn, that one guy getting eaten by walkers while impaled was pretty brutal. I kept thinking the camera would cut away at some point, but it just lingered there. Noah's death was also probably one of the most graphic the shows has done. As soon as he started talking about building a future you knew he was done for though, which is a shame because I actually liked his character. Seeing that his only journal entry was "This is the beginning" was heartbreaking. Hated the stuff with Rick, Carol, and that one family. I loved the stuff with Abraham though. "Mother Dick." |

"I need to send a fax to Cleveland"
Funny line from Talking Dead: "How come the van couldn't be playing Thriller?" |

Pretty horrific end for Everybody Hates Christ.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
Why are they wasting Abraham on construction?
He's a trained soldier, knows how to use weapons, knows tactics, knows how to survive, and has leadership skills. Seems like someone who should be leading these teams outside of the walls. Rick, too, for that matter. Not sure why that place needs two constables. Doesn't seem like they're going to have a lot crime in need of tending to. They have all of these capable, survivalist cats like Rick, Abraham, and Daryl who can kick ass and get the job done, but end up sending these guys who turn tail and run like bitches at the first sign or trouble out on missions outside of the wall. |

It's driving me nuts that they continue to talk about the walls they built, and no one mentions that they built them backwards...

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E14) -- "Spend" -- 3/15/15
Am I the only one who is extremely annoyed by Gabriel continuing to wear his collar after he burned it in the fire a few episodes ago? I mean they showed hat in the friggin previews, yet first frame there he is wearing it...
