Waiting for someone to come into the thread to say they're no longer going to watch the show because the title isn't "accurate."

"but mathematically if each session is eight hours long................"
Really like the show so far.. I'm not sure how they can run with the set up for a bunch of seasons but I hope they are able to make it at least a couple..
I even like the eps being shown back to back. I've grown so use to watching tv shows in batches of eps due to DVD/Netflix/DVR it's starting to feel like "that's just how you watch shows"..
but of course it's the FOX and I really have no faith in that network keeping a show around, at all.

I'm liking the show more each week.
The stuff about Shawshank Redemption was hilarious. "Tom Hanks at his finest."

I dunno. the start of the first episode and through most of the second he really became unlikable, but I think he turned it around a bit at the end in explaining himself and that last speech was funny - including his rebound from it.

I think they were consciously walking that unlikable line and now they're going to pull back from that, but I still found him extremely sympathetic given his situation. I mean that's just horrific bad luck.

Forte has been hit or miss for me over the years with his neurotic style of delivery, but it really works for me in this role. Makes him both unlikeable and sympathetic at the same time.

Seeing two episodes back to back makes me worry that Fox is burning off the remaining episodes.

I was going to ask this, are they burning off the episodes or was this the plan all along?

This was the scheduled plan, generally a burn off means burning them off on a less ideal time (such as Saturday evenings at 10 pm). This is getting a prime spot.
This is also pulling decent ratings for a live action Fox comedy.

I'm enjoying this show, but I really wish they had waited longer to introduce more survivors. We're six episodes in and we've already got four survivors. I would've liked to have seen Phil on his own a bit longer.
From a practical standpoint, if they want to repopulate the earth and cut down on incest then Phil and Carol should have a baby; Todd and Carol should have a baby; Phil and Melissa should have a baby; and Todd and Melissa should have a baby. And they should do this a few times that way they can probably avoid anyone with the same mother or father having sex with one another.
I love the Todd character though and the dramatic music that plays when he goes into one of the sad stories about his past.

I have only watched the last two weeks of this show, but I love it sofar. I like the fact that Forte is kind of a selfish asshole. If the last man on earth was a great guy, it would probably make the show less entertaining.

I don't see him that way.
More of a guy who was alone on earth for years and went a little nuts.
Then a a female shows up and he figures she's the only one so he
follows all her stupid rules because, why not then another much more
attractive woman appears and he sees more crazy added to his life and does what any
crazy guy would do in that situation.
I think Schaal's character is the jerk.

I would agree with all of that until January Jones showed up. Once she hit the scene he became a jerk. I think his wife is just batshit crazy.
