My family is really digging this show. Outside of Modern Family we don't even watch comedies anymore... really liking this one though.

I noticed in the CLC episode that the youngest kid was left handed. I'm surprised they didn't make an issue of that, unless it's only the Japanese culture that (only until very recently) will attempt to "correct" the left-handedness of a child. The rationale being that abaci are designed for right-handed people.

Episode 3 and 4 are so much better than the first 2.
My jacket is 60% off and it glows in the dark so I save on electricity too
This is not a duet!

They need to have the Goldbergs paired with this, locking down 1980-1999!

The theme "song" for this show is terrible. Thankfully it's short.
The father can't act.
The show has its moments. But I think its due for cancelation on my DVR.

I typically don't like broad comedies, but I'm really enjoying this. Good cast, good 90s nostalgia, hope it keeps doing well.

"We're going downtown to pick up a prostitute so Ashley Alexander can bend her over and (bleep) her too"
This show has earned the series record option on my DVR with that line alone.

The grandma taking the kid for all he's worth (his stuffed bear) at a game of poker didn't do that for you already?
Man, I'm not even Asian and this series is firing on all cylinders to me growing up in a minority family during the 90's. Loving every minute of it.

Dug the A/C stuff. If there's one thing I can relate to from experience and from my friends is that asian parents HATED wasting money on air conditioning.

I love how the mom told the youngest kid, "grandma won it fair and square. that's poker" instead of giving it back to the kid.
My favorite line so far though has been: "My family loves each other. But we don't say it out loud. We show it thru endless criticisms and micro-management"

Well, to be completely forthcoming, I already had the series record because I volunteer at an Asian-American film festival, and last November we were able to show the Fresh off the Boat pilot. Randall Park and the three boys also came down for the screening. No Constance Wu though. Damn it.

I love this show too. The mom's line last episode about "being perfectly happy with two sons only" and her "pimp" dancing made me LOL. Shaq Fu was really horrid so good for the show to remind people of that. BTW, I don't think there really was a 9-5 game. Was there?
And does the grandma actually speaks Mandarin since I think the characters have indicated that their families are from Taipei?

Yeah, Taiwanese is heavily derived from Mandarin. Think the prime dialect is Taiwanese Mandarin. But there are a ridiculous number of variant dialects, but every language has that.
There wasn't a 9 to 5 game, but it's still better than Shaq Fu.

I let the dumbest shit bother me in this case, Texas Pete Cha! Sriracha bottles, which didn't exist until 2013.
