Re: Justified (S6E03) - "Noblesse Oblige" - 2/3/15
Good episode - nice to see them tie a lot of it together, though is it clear why they were trying to buy up property yet?
The son and his buddy getting caught trying to steal the explosives was hilarious. And Wynn Duffy "rehydrating" and just sitting quietly sucking on his straw had me rolling.
So does Ava end up turning on the marshals? (and gives them just enough to make good on the deal) That conversation with Sam Elliot about whether she would just be a token or not, makes me wonder if she ends up kind of like Catherine at the end (and taking over for Boyd if he dies/gets taken down)

LOVED the "I'm going to put a bullet in his brain" ending. I wonder if Boyd intended to go that route all along, or if he only decided after Sam Elliot insulted him at the end?

Are you talking about the front shot? If so, that wasn't her nipple. It was a bruise on her breast. Stopped it and saw where it was and it was definitely a bruise.

^^ in a case like this, would posting a pic to help clarify be ok or would it be against house rules as it might be nippage?

I can't get enough of Choo-Choo, although they wisely don't wear out his welcome. I'd pay good money just to see the outtakes of his scenes to hear the rest of the cast & crew breaking up (especially after the first rehearsal or scene shot). He's like the anti-Dewey...where Dewey was manic, Choo Choo is in suspended animation. So glad they found more comic relief to go along with the other moronic henchmen.
Ava's got a great stare. If they ever film The Pat Summit Story, she might be a contender for the lead.

look at the placement of it. way too high to be a nipple, unless she's had a horrible, horrible surgeon.

I didn't think Sam Elliot was gonna be the big bad because it would've been too big a dumb coincidence for the show, but I also didn't realize that Steenburgen was grifting him. So it totally works.

Loved Goggin's facial reactions after Elliot stood up & basically called him a little ****ant playing at big boy games.

Boyd's been in some tight spots with some pretty dangerous characters, but this time he seems to realize that he's in the deep end without a life preserver.

The Crowder family has been running things around Harlan in one form or another for a long time. Boyd doesn't defer. He pretends to defer until he sees his opening (or creates one). So even while watching that scene, and seeing with my own two eyes that he seemed to be in over his head, knew it, and was trying to buy himself a graceful exit, I didn't buy it. They were going to have to give me a private scene with Boyd truly scared for his life and in retreat mode before I would buy it. As we saw, that was far from the case.

The first 2 episodes I wasn't feeling it as much, and it had me worried I wasn't going to enjoy this season. This episode brought me completely back. I loved every scene.

the whole thing about " a woman in this business has to do what a man won't" makes me think ava betrays boyd. men are usually loyal to someone they truly love in these shows, kinda honor among thieves. maybe she kills katherine with a size 7 boot to the head. i am trying to figure out what that was foreshadowing.
i don't get why boyd cannot find good help. the younger brother/intern was pathetic, and his brother should know better than to bring him into this. if boyds crew is 4 people, i wonder how he is able to fend off other criminals.
i think Tim kills garret dillahunt. "you're kinda a dick, guy"
there can never be too much wynn "dixie" duffy in a man thong.

Every scene with Wynn Duffy, Catherine and Boyd, I keep thinking that Duffy has got to be thinking that Boyd is absolutely nobody to trifle with...His enemies end up dead...all the time.
Great episode, Sam Elliot's character is great and he is doing an outstanding job.
Great writing and great acting as usual.
