Beharie has a nice set of pipes if she wasn't dubbed, she's in the wrong profession, . Ichabod didn't fare so well, though much better than my last karaoke attempt, that's for damn sure. Digital cinematography looks solid as usual, but the makeup effects on this show are really good. They kept it in the shadows most of the time, but still. That was the most arbitrary deus ex machina way of discovering how to kill a monster I've ever seen.

Duet at the end was cute, I sense I tie-in album .

Not a bad episode, we got some actual character development and moved the plot a little bit, but still mostly felt like a monster of the week. This show's direction hasn't always been particularly clear, but without a big bad, it's just meandering all over the place. There is the new mystery with Irving, but I wonder if they're just setting something up to figure it out later or it'll actually tie in to what's coming up?

"A Thugee Death Cult?" Didn't they disperse after Indiana Jones killed Molaram?

Re: Sleepy Hollow (S2E14) -- "Kali Yuga" -- 1/26/15

The dead lady played HG Wells on Warehouse 13. During the auction the announcer called out a item from HG Wells.

I found the sexual tension between Nick and evil lady kind of gross considering she raised him.

I think the captain's wife is Henry and that Kat lied about him being free of Henry.

The oddest thing about this episode was Kat disappearing from the middle of the show.

I liked this week's monster as a change of pace, though I think Ichabod has adapted all too well to modern customs.

I hope this episode means that Hawley isn't coming back: for some reason I just don't like his character.

There is zero chance of that. If anything I think they committed him more to the show.

You might want to get use to it. The powers at Fox have sent word that they want more stand alone episodes to improve ratings. They also want to concentrate more on Mills and Crane. It looks like this was the first episode post mandate. I haven't realized that the ratings had taken such a beating this season until a few weeks ago when it wasn't renewed with Gotham.

I used to love this show but just can't seem to be into it lately. I only watched halfway before I just erased it. I started feeling like I was watching The Scooby Gang. It's no longer on my must watch list.

My guess is that the show comes back if Fox has a hole in their schedule and producers shave the budget down. Axing John Noble is a start towards that goal.

It was a trip to hear John Noble's native Australian accent in The Mule, a newly released drug smuggling film from Australia. He really is a good actor.

I don't really see much of a reason for this series to exist without Moloch, the Horsemen, and the impending Apocalypse.

It was a huge blunder for that aspect of the mythology to be closed off this early in the run. They would have been better off to keep the macro-arc running in the background while they used a "hellmouth" excuse to do one-off stories unrelated to the larger arc.

I think some aspect of that mythology comes back in a hypothetical third season.

I am shocked that Fox is getting involved with the show and making changes. Shocked I say.

This ep seemed like a step in the right direction to get the show back on track, and the discussion by Crane about how he and Abbie have drifted apart seemed written to address fan complaints. Or maybe I'm just imagining that.

Also, what did Irving see on that last shot? Was it anything - or just a dramatic moment?

For me the episode was only slightly better than the other most Molach eps due to the action and getting some back story for Nick. And again maybe only for me, their going on about drifting apart only took the episode down again.

I think what has really killed the post Moloch eps is Irving coming back. Should have just left him dead.

That said, I went back and watched that scene three times. Even paused it on the image and couldn't figure out what they were trying to show us. I was hoping somebody here would know.

That last shot was showing us that Irving had no reflection. My guess is that he is the new bad guy.

Sadly I deleted the episode, so I can't go back and watch it again. Sure looked like more than that. Seemed to be some image being shown. But maybe the tech crew just reallly botched the job of removing his reflection.

Thanks..

I was expecting that tired old trope (or the ol' SUDDEN COMPLETELY BLACK EYES stinger) when the camera started moving around them embracing, but I sure as hell couldn't tell that's what was being shown.

Typically no reflection in horror indicates a person has no soul. Think earlier vampire tales.

Understood.

The issue wasn't the meaning but the way the reveal was shot/framed/shown (at least for me and hdnmickey).

Re: Sleepy Hollow (S2E14) -- "Kali Yuga" -- 1/26/15

I think that the horsemen are still very much a part of the series… And I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of the new ones: Pestilence or Famine.

... but I could be wrong.

(For the record… I know that I'm behind. I just watched this episode tonight and hope to burn through the rest of the season this weekend.)
