Arrow (S3E10) -- "Left Behind" -- 1/21/15

"Left Behind" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

THE TEAM DEALS WITH OLIVER'S DISAPPEARANCE - In the aftermath of Oliver's (Stephen Amell) fight with Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Arsenal (Colton Haynes) continue to protect the city in the Arrow's absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn (John Barrowman) pays the team a surprise visit. Thea (Willa Holland) suspects there is something more behind Oliver's disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) tests a part of his new suit and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) takes up the mantle of the Black Canary. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Erik Oleson (#310). Original airdate 1/21/2015.

Episode 10 of 23

In case you missed it, The CW renewed Arrow for a 4th season last week

Great episode.

As always... some of the best stunt work on TV or film. Love how they do everything in one shot. Much more effective.

Something about this episode seemed so familiar...the dead guy being dragged to a mysterious front door...

Awesome episode. Only thing I didnt like was the reveal of where he landed.
In the real world he would have been all jacked up from hitting all those rocky ledges and probably busted his head wide open. But I guess the small amount of snow pack on that little ledge cushioned his fall.

Loved seeing Diggle in costume at the beginning. I wish he'd worn it longer.

It looks like they won't employ the Lazarus Pits for Ollie's return, which is a little disappointing. I did think this episode was better written and crafted than anything we had gotten since the season premiere. The flashback finally had a purpose and led to events happening now.

I liked how Malcolm kept showing up in the Arrowcave, bypassing their security like it was nothing.

Anyone else laugh when Felicity just turned off the lights on Diggle and Roy?

I never liked Sara so Laurel replacing her is neither here nor there for me.

You're not. I never cared for Sara. I'm hoping the writers will improve upon Laurel, though. She can be a little annoying at times.

Re: Arrow (S3E10) -- "Left Behind" -- 1/21/15

I had a whole post typed out and my tabled dumped it.

Highlights:

- Diggle scenes great, conversations hemorrhoids the episode
- Laurel sucks when she isn't talking with Ollie ala season 1
- Wish Black Canary had taken a season+ to develop, not 10 episodes

This shot was great (spoiled for size):

Spoiler:

There were so many good shots last night. I loved Diggle's slide under the flatbed and the camera following along with him.

Laurel and Katie Cassidy are both still terrible.

She was annoying during the whole pill, drinking story. I really do not see any great issue with her at the moment. Not a standout character, yet maybe they can work on that.

Re: Arrow (S3E10) -- "Left Behind" -- 1/21/15

I think they have consciously moved away from giving Laurel dopey storylines like the odd pill-popping one. They probably should have had her date Ray Palmer this season or something, but I guess they want her to end up with Ollie at some point.

Soooo, getting shish kabobbed and falling hundreds of feet can just be cured with some stitches. Alright then. I sort of wished they went with the laz pit.

Did anyone else's DVR record this episode in 2 different pieces? I'm using Verizon FIOS, and this was the first time it has ever happened. I went to watch it, and found there were two pieces - each about 30 min in length. No other recorded shows have done that.

Well, Ollie looked plenty dead and Maseo said that he asked Tatsu to bring him back. I think Ollie was dead and Tatsu resurrected him through means other than the Lazarus Pit. I wonder if they'll use her to introduce or at least suggest the existence of Dead Man.

I have fios, but that didn't happen. I think it's happened once or twice in the past with other shows.
