Somebody on avclub made a comment on how The Simpsons had started burning out by Season 10.

He was quickly corrected that since this is episode 108 of It's Always Sunny, it should technically be Season 6 Simpsons quality because it's kind of right.

I noticed on the one shot sequence, when they transition from inside to outside, you can see where they make the cuts.

But the second time they go out into the alley (when Charlie tells that goddamned bitch to move the dumpster six inches), I didn't see any cuts.

I also didn't see any cuts when they went down to the basement.

Well, the lack of cuts in the scenes seemed a little more birdman than TD. But alright alright alright.

Director Matt Shakman ran through how this episode worked:

It was an homage to the 6 minute tracking shot in TD that took the show from getting some buzz to outright deafening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_HuFuKiq8U

Alright, alright alright.

Thanks for the video. I was scratching my head at what "TD" was supposed to refer to in this thread. I swear, it's hard to keep up with all of the acronyms sometimes.

(Count me among those that were floored when they saw that scene last year.)

Sunny always has one or two duds each season, and this was one of them. The waiter callback was great, and the forklift pratfall was really funny, but they just ran that creampie bit WAY into the ground, and it was a pretty weak premise to begin with. It was like listening to an eight year-old learn a new dirty word and then repeat it all day.

So it was basically an episode of The League?

I think I have been the opposite of everyone as I thought that was a funny episode compared to some other so-so episodes this season. I thought Dee screwing up everything at the factory was very funny. And I always like when there are divisions in the group and they don't trust each other, as their paranoia of something that isn't there is always funny!

I thought it was funny as well. Charlie telling Dennis and Mac how he wants to sell them to children and their reaction was

Last night's was glorious. Certainly a plot turn I never thought the show would take, and I loved that they went for it.

At a certain point i thought this show had run its course, however this season so far and the last one have been really strong. Life in it yet.

Re: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (FXX) - Season 10 Thread - premieres 1/14/15

There must have been something in the way it was shot or their performances because for some reason during the very first scene Charlie and Dee were left alone at the bar I was thinking about them hooking up. I'm not saying I called what would happen, but I distinctly recall wondering if there had ever been any references to them hooking up in the past, and it was weird that I was thinking of it now after all these years and maybe it was just because Charlie and Dee don't get paired up very often even though they have been a bunch of times.

This season seems to rely more on writing instead of yelling and manic-ness ... And it is working, really well. Most of the manic stuff was saved for Charlie Work

This is Charlie's season

After seeing them on Conan this week and the talk of the Lethal Weapon spoof they did a couple of times it got me thinking of what other spoof they could do for an episode. I think maybe Die Hard, Miami Vice or even Rush Hour could be funny as hell.

Conan was right in that this show is like the Simpsons where it can go on forever. There is nothing that will change the show (kids growing up, marriages, etc).

I thought the season started off slow, but the last few episodes have been great. This weeks was funny cause I always like when Mac and Charlie are together for the whole show as they play off each other great.

Brilliant. I did not see that coming at all.
