Girls (HBO) - Season 4 Thread - premieres 1/11/15
Hannah has left New York to attend the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop, hoping to become a more serious writer, while facing uncertainty in her relationship with Adam. Back in the city, Marnie is pursuing a music career, trying to balance her personal and professional relationship with Desi. New graduate Shoshanna is interviewing for jobs and struggling to sort out her relationship with Ray. And Jessa is trying sobriety through AA, but her knack for creating drama is undiminished. Created by and starring Lena Dunham, the Emmy(R)-winning HBO series GIRLS takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of women in their 20s. Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Lena Dunham, Ilene S. Landress, Murray Miller, Paul Simms and Bruce Eric Kaplan executive produce the show, which kicks off its ten-episode fourth season SUNDAY, JAN. 11 (9:00-9:30 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other half-hour episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time.
10 episode 4th season. This has been renewed for a 5th.

Good, but very low key 1st episode. Basically just setting up Hannah moving to Iowa to start that writer's program. Nothing really LOL funny.
Hey, at least the highlight was some partial nudity from Allison Williams.

Elijah and Adam both had some funny lines. That's about all.

Meh... I think I'm dropping the show. I'm basically only watching it for the male characters as I've grown to hate all of the women on it. I stuck with it longer then I thought really, but I don't want to see and Hanna stand-alone episodes.

Boring episode. But liked that Alison Williams scene - and thought to myself..that dude had his face down there and she was naked (maybe a piece of duct tape or something)

Dunham: You got your ass motorboated in the season premiere!
Williams: Which I can’t wait to see…. I had a couple of days talking to wardrobe and makeup to get ready to rig the thing that I wore for the ass motorboating. It was an engineering achievement! I would manufacture it if more than one person a year needed it. [Laughs] It was so elaborate—it involved Spanx that we cut away and glued down and involved menstrual pads and two of those weird thongs. I’ve had to do scenes like this twice now.

We were on the verge of doing it after S3 but with all the nonsense Lena has brought about in the interim we just dropped it outright. The show has gone way downhill and Lena is just a really really bad person.

Another uncomfortable Marnie singing moment lol
I think Lena lost weight and she got a Allen Iverson haircut.

I guess nobody watched S4E2? I thought it was okay but not very funny until Elijah showed up (natch). Sure it was a huge stretch to bring him to Iowa, but it was totally worth it :
"Does this happen at every party."
"Every party I'm at!"
I do wonder how long they're going to keep Hannah in Iowa though. It might lead to a very disjointed-feeling season. Next week looks to be focusing on the other Girls back in NY.

Can't believe Lena Dunham has stayed fully clothed for two consecutive episodes.

Elijah is the funniest character on the show, so it was smart to bring him in - without him, the episode would've been a bore.

WTF? with Jessa taking a piss in the middle of the street. That was fucking gross. I know she wasn't really taking a piss (or was she? ), but seeing her crouch down with the flow coming out of her coochie was still nasty.
Out of all the girls, I hate her the most. Such a miserable C****
and is Shosh just an idiot or something? That was the impression I got from that stupid job interview scene.
at Hannah taking the random Amish horse cart ride at the end. Such a random thing.
I don't know I kind of hate watch this show even though I find it entertaining for the most part. The girls can be idiots.

So if a cop gives a person a ticket without get checking their ID to get their name & address, how do can they enforce the payment of the ticket? If she never paid that ticket, how would she get in trouble? I don't think we can assume they just didn't show her giving the cop her ID given her attitude.

Shosh is an idiot. You don't tell the interviewer that.
Jessa is the worst.

Re: Girls (HBO) - Season 4 Thread - premieres 1/11/15
I think Shosh's scene was to highlight how fucking self-entitled she is (and this goes for the rest of the nitwits on this show). Thankful for a job? Nah, I'm going to wait until reality conforms to exactly what I want (though I won't want it if it, on the off chance, ever happens to actually happen). Same with Dunham's character with her last job and now grad school...Sadly, most of the late teens to 20 something year olds I have met over the last few years seem to be very similar....
