Ha, they do. I just assume everyone is streaming these days and that I'm the only one still getting physical discs from Netflix (because I like new releases).

Spoiler:
The original cast of characters were much better, and I think the show lost alot of good conflicts among the group when they killed off Shane, Lori, Dale, and Herschel, as they were the only one's to sort of stand up to Rick and the group when they disagreed. I think most of the new characters that started on the show in the Seasons 3,4, and 5 are OK, but missing something compared to the original cast. IMO

I totally agree. I think there have been some really strong episodes in the latter seasons, probably even better than anything in seasons 1 or 2, but the seasons are otherwise terrible and the good doesn't make up for the bad. At least the first two seasons had a coherent narrative. The show has been all over the place since they left Hershel's farm, rarely in a good way.

They need to do a better job with the each season's story arc, do a better job bookending them into a self-contained narrative within the overall series. Unfortunately the current season has already gone to shit as far as doing this, with the cannibal story having come and gone and then the group splitting up and then getting back together again and the church and the hospital and... I mean what does any of it even matter? They never stick with anything long enough for you to care.

The problem is partially the nature of what it is. The show is about a bunch of people wandering around trying to survive, and AMC wants it to continue interminably, so any predetermined endpoint is hard to think of, and as a result even arcs tend to be hard to stick since everything is constantly in flux.

Remember the case of Lost, which had a similar problem. ABC gave them an end date and we got one of the worst final seasons in history.

AMC will definitely keep this show open-ended so they can keep milking it. That does limit what you can do with it creatively. That is why they are spinning off another Walking Dead show.
