Banshee (S3E01) -- Season Premiere -- "The Fire Trials" -- 1/9/15
Lucas (Antony Starr), Brock (Matt Servitto) and Siobhan (Trieste Kelly Dunn) exact payback on a skinhead responsible for Emmett's death. Now waitressing at a local diner, Carrie (Ivana Milicevic) faces new challenges in the wake of her revelation to Gordon (Rus Blackwell) and Deva (Ryann Shane) about her past. After Alex Longshadow's death, a new, menacing threat looms on the horizon for Lucas, not to mention Proctor (Ulrich Thomsen) and Rebecca (Lili Simmons): Chayton Littlestone (Geno Segers), hell-bent on whipping the Kinaho tribe into a frenzy of violence against their enemies. Investigating the murder of four Marines, Lucas eyes the possibility of a huge, if dangerous, heist, and attempts to reenlist Job (Hoon Lee) to help him and Sugar (Frankie Faison) pull it off.
Written by Jonathan Tropper; directed by Loni Peristere.

I'm up for some ultraviolence, titties, and general badassery.

Looking forward to this returning. Some early reviews are promising - in short, its excesses don't look to let up anytime soon.

Between this and Strike Back Cinemax has somehow become the home of two of my favorite shows.

Holy Fuck that was awesome. Such a fucking badass show.
Opened literally with a bang and that's no pun, with Hood and company executing one of the dudes responsible for killing Emmett and then Carrie banging some random dude.
And ewwww, Procter banged Rebecca? I like how she's changed from little Amish slut to psychopath.
And man, now Littlestone is starting a full out War with Marines/Mercs and Hood is going to take them on for another score
Man, I love this show so much.
And they added icing on the cake with Nola still in the mix probably going to go after Alex's killer....aka Rebecca. I'm getting chills down my spine how fucking awesome this season is going to be.

Chayton's street ambush was pretty sweet. Will be interesting to see how the new guy adapts to the police force now that Hood seems to have everyone on board with him. Not sure I buy the drama of Carrie having to be a waitress at a roadside diner, but oh well. Solid premiere throughout.

The way I viewed it, "being a waitress" is nothing but a front, much like Hood is staying sheriff to maintain his cover. Besides, they even showed Ana/Carrie doing her regular gig and stealing cash from a safe.
I knew they were going with the incest angle, but it was still uncomfortable to witness. Everything else was great though, and looking forward to all the factions collide during the rest of the season.

Sorry, but those guys taking that military transport with just a bow & arrow and a couple goons with guns was the absolute height of bullshit, even for this show. Took me right out and I couldn't get back into it.

Plus, the guy she was sexing up was the Colonel. She probably already knows about the money and is making her own plans.

I understand what you're saying, but anything that happens in Banshee I take with a grain of salt. The show is great, and vastly underrated, but I will never look too closely into the show in that respect, because you will never enjoy it. It is what it is, as the show is over the top with everything it does (action, drama, nudity, relationships, etc), and thats is essentialy the charm of it.

"Is that your driving outfit?"
So awesome. Tons of nudity and action.
Yeah, Carrie already has her own plans. That's why she's already banging the Colonel guy. My guess is both plans end up merging together later in the season. They will all realize they need each other for specific parts of the plan.
Of course that assault on the military convoy with a bow and arrow was absurd. Most things on this show are. If that takes you out of this show, you shouldn't watch anything on TV. Almost everything has unrealistic elements to it.

That's how I felt about this show when it first started. In a way, it really was nothing more than a low budget B action movie on TV. But being able to develop their story over 10 episodes really helped elevate the show. Is some stuff ludicrous? Absolutely. But it works within the world they've created.

I get the criticism. But honestly, that's the type of thing I expect from this universe at this point. And hey, it did look cool!

Yeah, that was stupid but otherwise the show is all kinds of awesome!
