Friends Viewing Club 2015

http://img2.tvtome.com/i/u/28c79aac8...b8c03a4201.png

I'll be watching all ten seasons of Friends on Netflix in 2015, roughly one season per month. If you don't have them on DVD and you don't have Netflix, check with your library, I would bet that they have access to to the series on DVD.

You are welcome to watch along and we can talk about the seasons as we go along.

I'll attempt to keep up. I'd planned on watching the series anyway starting in January, so an episode a day sounds about right to me.

Does anyone know the date when Friends will be on Netflix, also I want to buy the bluray set(never owned the dvds), just havent gotten around to it yet. I don't care about the complaints it didn't have the extended episodes since I never saw them.

I only saw a couple episodes during broadcast and never got hooked, but I've been interested in giving it another chance. However, of all the TV DVDs I have, I don't think I have this show, and if it's not on Prime, it'd be difficult for me to keep up. However, I might try to catch a few here and there. I'm sure it's in syndication somewhere.

Been watching some random episodes on syndication and the show holds up really well and is still funny.

Friends is syndicated everywhere. You can watch 4 episodes a day on random channels.

I have the DVD's so I throw on a few episodes every so often. Funny thing about this show is that the first few seasons hold up really well, it's the last 3 or 4 seasons where it starts to feel dated.

This is a good idea and I might chime in from time to time but at this point I've seen the first 5 seasons multiple times and I don't have much interest in the show after that, so I won't be watching, but I will be following along with this thread for sure.

Yeah it's on Nick at Nite and TBS and 2 local channels air episodes at various times. IMO it's really only the final season and certain Joey-Rachel romance episodes from the last 2-3 seasons that don't hold up of the later seasons.

And from the early season the Superbowl episode sucks and the less said about Marcel the better.

Friends is my fiancee's favorite show, and after owning the DVD complete series years back I got her the Blu-ray set last year. She's sad there isn't the extended episodes as she watched the episodes repeatedly and now feels like there's stuff missing when she watches the Blu's. That said, we're watching episodes just about every day and rotating through the set a second time already.

I'm pretty sure I've seen every episode at some point. I think the show still holds up well as I'll occasionally catch while flipping the channels around.

As for the viewing club, I might chime in from time to time. Don't know if I'll be a regular since I have so much other stuff on my unwatched pile.

I spent most of this year watching reruns on Nick @ Nite (or TVland). They used to air from 10pm to midnight. It was fun watching them all again. Two thoughts; one, the show holds up remarkably well. two, those final couple-a-few seasons aren't as bad as I remembered. There's still some good episodes and jokes in there.

Now they put on HIMYM so I kinda miss watching them.

I'm in. I surprise myself sometimes how well I know the dialogue when I have it on in the background and I can still complete characters' lines.

Funny thing, we have seen every episode, possibly twice. But we never watched the show on NBC on its run, only on syndication.

I'm game to try and keep up with this - Amazon.ca had the complete series blu-ray set on for $70 a few weeks ago so I finally got around to picking it up.

Still one of my favorite shows. I enjoy how well-written the 6 characters are. I bought the Bluray set as well.

I thought they were the broadcast episodes and not the extended versions included on the DVD sets?

Yes and no.

When Warner remastered the show into high definition, they went off the "22-minute" episode edits (i.e. "broadcast version"). So for those episodes that were extended in their original airing (super sized) or on DVD, they do not exist in 1080p.

IIRC, the Blu-ray set has them included in standard-definition, but they will not be available on Netflix.

I haven't met too many girls over the years who don't like watching episodes of Friends and having a nice cuddle on the sofa

For that reason alone the show gets my respect

There are some individual episodes i rewatch quite often. For some reason i love the Brad Pitt episode. Other favourite episodes are when Ross and Rachel kiss after Rachel sees the old home movie of Ross getting ready to take her to the prom when her date initially bailed and Ross and Monica's new years rockin eve dance exploits.

The bet for the apartment is probably my favorite episode of the show, and maybe one of my favorite TV episodes in general.

Just started watching on Netflix. Yeah, it's great.

Funny thing, I like the show more than my wife. She would watch it with me sometimes, but she wouldn't watch it by herself, like I'm doing now.

Kinda funny seeing "Carol" in the second episode.
