She's been in several of these Christmas movies but she also makes guest appearances on network shows, which keeps her busy.

The UP channel has also been regularly playing Christmas movies of late. They have a different rotation of Christmas movies from Hallmark.

I'd comment more but most of my Christmas recordings have been piling up. I still have a couple movies I never got around to watching from Christmas 2016.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I have been watching all the basic cable Christmas films like a fiend, and one of the three I watched with my parents the past few days was the Netflix original with Rose McIver...which was a very cookie cutter film but hey, Rose McIver so still worth watching. I bet Netflix made this on the cheap so more seasonal originals please.

I also watched Snowmance when I got in from L.A., thrilled that the basic cable nets seem to have gone all in with the holiday films this year.

Vudu is going to have a sale on Hallmark Christmas movies ($5.99 HDX). It'll probably go live later this week:

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I've only seen about half the new Hallmark movies so far. But I think my favorite has been Finding Santa. It's pretty funny. And the leads were both great.

I think it's the first time I've seen Jodie Sweetin in anything since Full House. She was good. I hope she sticks around for more Hallmark movies.

The other one I really liked was Switched For Christmas. Candace Cameron Bure does an excellent job in these Hallmark movies. I think this is her 7th one, and I liked all of them.

There's also a four-pack for $11.99--don't recognize the titles, but pretty cheap.

Also two for $9.99.

The 4-pack is great. It has two of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, A Very Merry Mix-Up and Hitched For The Holidays.

There are a lot of great options in that 2 for $10 sale.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

Alicia Witt's The Mistletoe Inn is enjoyable like most of her Christmas films have been. All her Christmas movies tend to be more sarcastic than the others on Hallmark, mostly due to her acting style. A writer fresh off a break-up attends a writer's workshop, with the promise that her favorite romance writer will make an appearance.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I watched Switched for Christmas today that I recorded last week. I enjoyed it. Silly premise, but it was cute. Candace Cameron Bure for me is always likable and she did a good job portraying twins. The guys who played her romantic interests had good chemistry with her.

I also watched Home for Christmas Day. It has Catherine Bell and Victor Webster.

This one I didn't really care for. I like Catherine Bell, but this was mainly about her daughter falling in love with a soldier at her disapproval, because she doesn't want her to deal with his uncertain future. In the meantime, Bell's character continues to resist the charm of her long-time friend (Webster) who is a local restaurant owner because she's afraid of getting hurt.

Very uneven and kind of boring at points romance. Ended up being very by the numbers.

I went ahead and got the four-pack, as well as Trading Christmas (saw it last year and liked it) and Ice Sculpture Christmas as two for $10. I wouldn't mind getting the Carrie Fisher one as well but am uncertain what to pair it with. Maybe the Mariah Carey one since I like music-driven films?

The Mariah Carey movie is great and very sweet. She actually doesn't play the lead in it despite how it's advertised. It's really a Lacey Chabert movie with Mariah as a supporting character.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

Last nights movie on Ion was called "The Spruces and The Pines", not great, but enjoyable. It involved feuding families who both own christmas tree farms, with the love story of the guy and girl fall in love from the feuding families. It'll rerun several times before Christmas.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I'm just about to finish up Christmas Under Wraps with Candice Cameron Bure. I'm going through my unwatched pile, and have enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would, it almost feels like the plot of "Doc Hollywood" set at Christmas and moved to Alaska.

Not sure I've seen a Chabert movie before, but I'm watching The Sweetest Christmas now. She's pretty cute.

Watched The Christmas Note earlier. Predictable, but it got me anyway.

I agree. That one was a big disappointment. An excellent cast, but the movie was boring.

I really enjoyed Christmas in Evergreen. It's one of my favorites from this year's new batch.

Caught Christmas Encore on HMM, the two leads were good, but the story was meh..

I liked Finding Santa as well with Jody Sweetin.., cute christmasssy story
http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/finding-santa

Coming Home for Christmas with Danica, aka Winnie, was decent, not great but she was a winner and worth the watch for her
http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/comin...-for-christmas

With Love Christmas was pretty good, I liked the two leads
http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/with-love-christmas

The Alicia Witt, the-mistletoe-inn, one was just ok for me:

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I caught one from last year I missed with Danica McKellar that I enjoyed. There is a bit of genuine mystery and pathos in My Christmas Dream for which choice Danica's character will take in the end.

Hallmark must own a mall or something. I've seen the same mall used as the main setting in five or six different movies.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I finally saw Finding Santa that stars Jodie Sweetin and Eric Winter.

It was cute and had a nice positive message about Christmas. Sweetin was playing a likable person.

Only issue I had was how rushed the ending was:

Spoiler:

In the last 5-7 minutes of the movie, Sweetin and Winter's character ended up dating and then they jump forward in time and they end up engaged to be married. This was when they spent 90% of the movie being somewhat like adversaries and not really even being friends.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

I just watched "Finding Father Christmas", I bought it as a blind buy from the VUDU sale. It stars Erin Krakow from "When Calls the Heart". It aired last year on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, it involves her trying to find the Indentity of her father from a picture, and leads her to a town in Vermont. Not bad, its nice that its a different type of story for a Hallmark movie. I know there is a sequel that aired this year called Engaging Father Christmas. I guess I'll have to watch until next year to watch that one.

Re: Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas

New Lindy Booth movie on 12/22!

I've watched a few of the new ones lately. Bramble House Christmas was probably the best. A Song for Christmas (with Becca Tobin, one of the "stars" of Glee's final seasons) was fine, but didn't use as much music as I expected. Christmas Homecoming was pretty good. Hallmark seems to hit the returning-vet angle a lot, I guess because of the audience. I'm not a vet but it always gets me.
