Quinn was VERY bad-ass. But I was incredulous to the fact he didn't pick up an AK47 from one of the terrorists he and the Marine killed in the lower level.

I guess attacking upstairs with only a pistol made it all the more "bad-ass"?

It's likely that there would be hostages, and it would probably be easier to avoid hitting innocent people with a pistol than an AK.

Don't AKs also jam a lot? Or am I thinking of something else?

a rifle is an order of magnitude more accurate than a handgun. You could have a better chance of hitting a target at 100 yards shoulder firing a rifle versus a handgun at 20 feet.

And AK's will shoot in mud, the tradeoff is obviously less maneuverability with the rifle. Probably what they are going for is that for a professional like quinn, he is probably more comfortable with his personal weapon than an unknown quality rifle.

Note, I also had the same thought though, you don't leave that weapon behind in that situation.

he'd have to count the rounds in the AK to know how many shots he had. Also the sites could be screwed up. he wouldnt want to take time dealing with it.
