Yeah, three at one time is ridiculous. Have they ever had them many in play at one time? I hate the idols period and wish they would get rid of them but I guess they can make for some interesting tribal councils at times.

It's absurd... I get they do it to create chaos and what Jeff thinks is more drama, but it really starts to devalue strategy when 33% of the players in the game have idols and there's a 4th immunity in play (the actual immunity challenge winner)
The other problem is that the way they did it this season, one person could have had 3 idols right now if things broke right.
They should keep it to one per tribe pre-merge and then not introduce any more unless some are actually used. (or just get rid of them altogether)

Can someone explain why Natalie told John to use the idol when she was trying to get him out before? I must have missed something.

^ she said something about waiting for the right time to get revenge. My guess is she didn't know what Reed et.al were doing . Maybe she told him in order to flush out the idol for a later blindside thinking he was safe and the idol would be wasted?
Speculation - She probably thought the vote was 4 (Keith)-3 (Wes) -2 (someone in their alliance - maybe Jon). That was the plan. So even if she flipped it wouldn't be enough unless she knew what Reed and Drew were doing.

Natalie said earlier in the episode that her plan was to boot one of the guys in the minority alliance first before turning on Jon. She didn't want them to have the numbers before taking back control of the game, so her convincing Jon to use the idol was brilliant in that she gained his trust while taking away his safety net.

For his sake, I hope stuff was going on in that TC that we didn't see. Because otherwise ... damn. I feel a little bad for Reed. One the one hand, smart move to get in tight with the idiot father and son. On the other hand, idiots can't be counted on to carry out plans.
While this season doesn't really have any breakout characters, I do like that I have no idea what will happen from episode to episode. No chance of a tribe Pagonging in this season.

I really hate myself for saying this, but I'm actually starting to root for Natalie at this point.

I'm impressed with Natalie too. She put herself in a big time power spot by finding the HII and indirectly getting both idols played.
At this point I'd say I'd be fine with her, Reed or Jon winning. Everyone else sucks.
Still, I don't get why Natalie didn't flip. She's a loner in an alliance with two couples. She could have flipped to an alliance that didn't know she have an HII.

I think she did a good job by not overreacting to Jeremy's ouster.

Natalie is playing well. But she confirmed my decision never to root for her by using the word "twinnie".
