The Newsroom (S3E02) -- "Run" -- 11/16/14
With Rebecca (Marcia Gay Harden) again tasked with defending ACN in a possible lawsuit, Will tries to protect Neal from the fallout over the DOD leak. Charlie (Sam Waterston) and Leona (Jane Fonda) enter the fray of a hostile-takeover gambit involving Reese's (Chris Messina) half-siblings, Blair (Kat Dennings) and Randy Lansing (Chris Smith). Sloan fears Don (Thomas Sadoski) may be guilty of cashing in on insider information; Maggie ponders the ethics of eavesdropping; Hallie (Grace Gummer) pays a price for a late-night tweet.
Guest star: Kat Dennings
Written by Aaron Sorkin; directed by Greg Mottola.

Where did Neal go so Will was able to tip him off the Feds were there?
Cool seeing Mary McCormack guest star here. Probably doing a favor for Sorkin from their West Wing days.
The stuff with Don and Sloan didn't really do anything for me. But overall a pretty good episode. No liked seeing Kat Dennings here. It was almost like a 2 Broke Girls crossover with her being Max and able to curse.
at Toby from The Office guest starring. For those unaware, he's the showrunner along with Sorkin.
at how fucking stupid Hallie was.

Nice to see Oscar Parrish from Sports Night in this episode. I guess after he lost the long jump competition to that Austrian guy, he went into law enforcement and got assigned to be partners with Kate Harper from the West Wing.
Great ending with Neal being on the run. I wonder if that'll be the case 'til the end of the season.
Going to be interesting how Jane Fonda wins against one of the Broke Girls.

2014: The year of HBO showrunners saying "Fuck it, we're done" and ending shows with super short seasons.
Interesting episode, seems like everybody got some good moments.

"You walked right by the waffles."
I really like the Sloan/Don relationship..it seems "real", unlike the stuff they were force-feeding us with Jim and Maggie the past two years (and Don and Maggie for that matter).
