In this episode we get to meet a whole group of other survivors, but what looks safe and nice on the outside has a bit of a dark side.

Episode 4 of 16

Is this the "others" episode?

"But what looks safe and nice on the outside has a bit of a dark side."

Well that's a shocker!

I know! Seems like they put the same synopsis up for each ep.

I realize it's only 13 minutes in, but I don't like where this is going.

Well that was a waste of time.

Yeah completely.

This is what I was talking about when I said I was worried about every time this show ventures into non-comic material.

Next weeks episode looks like it could be great though.

prequel shit never works. I would have been perfectly fine with a "Oh, hayyy, Beth is back, OK let's go to Washington" throw away line to get the gang back together.

This season has been great so far, but that was really horrible.

I guess we can figure that Daryl returned to the group with that guy Beth got out. Hopefully this plot line is resolved before episode 8 ends.

My awesome new X1 box petered out when she started running into the group on walkers.

What happened since it's obvious I won't get to see it.

So Beth and Carol will be taking over that hospital soon?

"All signs point to yes"

Not sure why y'all didn't like the episode. I enjoyed it and we see the true metamorphosis of Beth into someone that can handle herself now.

Yeah, obviously one of those "fill in the backstory" episodes that doesn't add much to the main plot, but does add depth to the series.

One thing you've got to say for the show, you get your fair share of screen time.

It would have been better to spread Beth's story over the last couple of episodes. It's a hard sell to dedicate a whole episode to such a minor character especially when most of it is a bore.

Yes. Worst episode in a long time. Tedious and pointless, I actually couldn't wait for it to end. Especially bad compared to the run of great ones to open this season.

Well at least this episode didn't go from "Everyone Hates Chris" to "Everyone Eats Chris"
Overall, it was meh for me. Beth bores me, but hopefully giving her lollipops will keep her from singing. THAT I can do without...ever again.
Next week looks better.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E04) -- "Slabtown" -- 11/02/14

Had this episode not aired and Beth just showed up, people would bitch about not knowing what went on with her

I was a little miffed at Beth not just getting down to business about what's out there and being a pushover. But in the end I think she saw vulnerabilities and started going after them.

I thought maybe it was Morgan with Daryl but now maybe not sure. Maybe Beth and Carol after some ass kicking or maybe it is Noah.
If it's Noah then we can expect the group to head over and do some damage.

The real question I have is what happened with Beth when she got separated from Daryl at the house. She obviously got hurt somehow but the scene in last season's episode made it seem like a "grab and dash". I wonder if the black car, which was visible in the parking lot, is used to drive around and abduct people, or was it just a supply run.

Great episode. It was nice to get back to the city and see something else for a change. Don't understand the bitching.

Yeah, back in the original episode, it seemed like the house was maybe a setup, a honeypot of food and drink, so to speak, to lure people in. Then the hospital people set the walkers on the house to split of Daryl and Beth, then grabbed Beth and split because they figured she was "weak" and could be pressured into working for them.
