Putting this up now. Yes, the show is now on Fridays. No more Football delays. But chances are most of you are DVRing it and watching it Saturday.

This is awesome. No more recording episodes of The Good Wife for 15 minutes of AR footage for me. Plus, Bethany Hamilton is racing? Awesome.

Does anyone know if Bethany Hamilton is related to Laird Hamilton?

I'll still watch it Sunday night as that habit is just too ingrained.

I'm loving that now I can just record 2 or 3 to watch in one sitting without having to worry about the delays.

Re: The Amazing Race (S25E01) -- Season Premiere -- "Go Big Or Go Home" -- 9/26/14

Yes, football/golf/tennis delays have kept me from watching this show forever. There are very few things that aggravated me as much as sitting down to watch a Sunday night CBS program & hearing that goddamn 60 minutes clock still ticking. And then realizing they weren't even on to the fluff pieces yet!

I wonder if the decision to take the penalty is irreversible. That is, could the losing team have said "OK, let's go back to digging and see if we can find the clue and make it back here in less than 4 hours"?

I said the same thing out loud as they scrambled to the finish. Guess it seems like it's a decision you can't go back on.

This new "save" reward seems like a huge deal, but for a strong team, it may not even come into play.

Impressive performance by the dentists. And he even helped a couple teams read the compass.

And I wondered the same thing about making a deal. I assume when you declare you're taking the penalty, you're stuck with it. Because otherwise, why not go back and try digging again. Funny how 2 of the teams were so close. Great road block.

The dentists look like the team to beat right now. Brooke and Robbie were pretty impressive too. They made up a bunch of time on the road block. The preview for next week doesn't bode well for my dvdtalk fantasy teams. Yikes!

Re: The Amazing Race (S25E01) -- Season Premiere -- "Go Big Or Go Home" -- 9/26/14

After watching the Amazing Race Canada, this was boring. 20min of intros, 20 min of travel, climb a 8 rung rope ladder that only one team can do at a time (no passing) and then play in sand for the rest of the show. I was bored most of the time.

When I saw the show was an hour and a half on my DVR, I thought the premiere was extra long (like Survivor). Then I realized it was still recording with the half hour extra padding I used to give it. No more of that thankfully.

Yeah, they were nasty and spoiled, but losing spectacular eye candy on the 1st leg is never a good thing.

How can you not root for that Bethany girl and a surfer dude boyfriend who seems genuinely nice? I hope they, at least, go deep into the race.

It was so bizarre watching this when we got home on a Friday night from the DVR instead of watching it live every Sunday.

I assume the penalty is irreversible since you are obtaining the clue to the next task/pit stop.

That is why.

Real sad to see the only real eye candy go in the1st leg.

All the teams seem to at least be physically capable this season. I think that is a first. Usually there is at least a couple teams with a real weak link. Soul Surfer is the closest thing to that given the missing arm, yet she may be the best female athlete out there.

Wow. That was an exciting first leg. But I was let down to see all that silicone leave so early. But yeah, Karma is a bitch.

I was not sad to see them go at all. Generic overly tan blondes in clown make up just don't do much for me. Both the Canadian and Australian versions do a much better job of casting truly hot chicks who still manage to come off as real-ish people.

The wrestler Robbie Strauss used to wrestle for me under the name Rob Eckos back in 2002-2003. Nice guy so i'm glad to see he's doing well with TNA and now this.
