Looks like a hit, alright. I still think it's dumb, but dumb in ways that make it enjoyable to watch. I guess I'm sticking around

This second episode was disappointing. It looks like CBS aired this one out of production order, I just get that feeling with how self-contained it was. There is plain dumb and then there is stupid fun. Unfortunately, this episode was more of the former than the latter.
It is great seeing how Katherine McPhee has mastered looking absolutely clueless on command, when the geniuses start spouting off gibberish around her.
It goes to show the monumental accomplishment that Under The Dome achieved in its perfect second season. Good hate-watching is hard to find in a series, week after week.

Just watched this tonight.
Big screwup that apparently happened when this was broadcast on many West coast CBS affiliates. At around the 30 minute mark, they accidentally played NCIS: Los Angeles early. I don't know how many here saw that. They corrected it 5 minutes later and made up for the lost time with less commercials in the final 1/2 hour to get the show back on time.
Anyways, goofy but entertaining episode. Obviously they spent more money on the Pilot. The virus plot was pure science fiction.
I was glad to see Camille Guaty playing Walter's sister. She worked on Prison Break with the show's creator Nick Santora. She's super cute.
BTW, I read that Kat McPhee is apparently dating the lead of this show. She's apparently going through a nasty divorce from her 50 year old husband.

Maybe McPhee just really gets into her roles? Didn't she first cheat with the director of Smash, a tv show where she played a character who cheated on her boyfriend with the director of a broadway show?

I'm really enjoying this one. I'm glad they changed Happy's character a little bit, though I still think she has a way to go before we care about her. The others are all great though. Fun, mindless, fun!

THANK YOU! I was going nuts trying to remember where I knew her from! I must be getting old, my encyclopedic TV trivia brain seldom fails me.

The 2nd episode didn't seem to have the same charm of the 1st episode. Seemed just like any other hour crime procedural really. I also rolled my eyes at the way they tried to hammer home how everyone suffered losses in their past.

You probably know her better - unless you weren't a fan of the show - from the NBC show "Las Vegas where she played "Piper Nielsen" during its last season. And in between "Prison Break" and "Las Vegas" - she was also in all 13 episodes of the short-lived ABC show - "The Nine" as "Franny Rios"

This show is dumb on an Under the Dome level.
BTW who is Justin Lin and why is it important enough for him to be mentioned in the thra\ad title?

Director of several of the Fast and Furious movies. He's become a well known action movie director. He only directed the Pilot, but is a Producer on the series.

We were affected by the somebody hitting the wrong button and we were treated to a few minutes of NCIS:LA. Fortunately I hit fast forward on the DVR to see if it was corrected. But we did seem to miss at least a couple minutes of the plot since everybody had changed locations. Wasn't hard to fill in the blanks though.
At this point I'm having fun with the show, but this constantly making the main character unlikable, back to likable, back to unlikabe will get old fast.

No one watched tonight?
This show less plausible then Knight Rider and Macgyver combined.
Good thing all those salt packets were there.

This will likely be my last Scorpion for a while. I will have DVR conflicts going forward with it and this is the show getting dropped.
Has anyone else noticed that Scorpion has the longest, most drawn-out credits in television history? I noticed it last week but forgot to mention it. The final producer credit finished around 21 minutes into the full hour.

Ditto. Too much good stuff on now so I'll probably play catch up when everything else goes on break.

The only other scripted show of significance this is competing with right now is Sleepy Hollow on FOX.

Man, I thought 24 was bad about stringing together IT gobbledygook, but this show takes the damn cake: "We just need to BIOS into the Telnet to open a ISA slot on the double data rate PCMCIA ... we can then defrag the EEPROM on that socket... Does anyone have a token-ring drive?"
What's worse, the commentators on the Sunday football games were calling it the "smartest new show of the season".
