Re: The Tick (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread

Glad it's back and will give it another chance, and yet I wasn't a big fan of this. It didn't make me laugh very much. I remember one or two very big guffaws but I can't remember what they were about. And it's a little clunky. There's something about comedy and superheroes that can make things come off slow and plodding that impacts the whole show. Still, I like that Edlund appears to have a good amount of creative control and I'll be back and hope for the best.

I enjoyed the first 6 but it was definitely lacking in the humor department. Very spotty. Miss Lint was the highlight for me. She brought the funny. Her scene in the car with Ramses was hilarious.

Saw it and liked it. Could use a bit more humor, but overall I thought it was good. This after getting used to the new Tick. On finishing the last episode, I thought it was cool that Amazon brought up
Spoiler:
Ep. 1 of the classic live action Tick in the view next square

Burned through S2. Thought it was a lot of fun. Very cute. For the most part it was all pretty harmless stuff.

I love how Superion is a moron and how we kept going back to all the corny stuff out of the Superman movies with him. You just knew he was going to fuck things up for everyone.

Series discussion my friend. Once an episode/season has dropped we're free to discuss it, spoilers and all.

S2 just came out. Give it a little time so poeple can catch up?

I always thought it was common knowledge around here not to look at a thread after the episode came out if you don't want spoilers? You've been here long enough to know that.

Re: The Tick (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread

With series and season discussions, it’s suggested and common courtesy to use spoiler tags on anything major regarding plot if a new season just dropped in full. In episode threads it’s different because it’s for one episode with a specific air date. I don’t know if whatever is being discussed is a spoiler, just giving context.

Sure that’s fine but this is a series thread.
people are in here following the thread may be from s1 and haven’t had a chance to watch ALL of season 2 since it just appeared.

Also as Dex said. And I don’t know if that was a spoiler either and that’s the point.
Thanks.

Clearly says in the spoiler guidelines once these streaming type shows have dropped you enter these specific threads at your own risk. If not then the guidelines needs to be more specific- how long do these restrictions last, 1 week, 2 weeks, etc? What if the show is 10 episodes, 20? Etc. I can't tell you how many times I've entered these kind of threads a week or two later just to have a major plot point revealed, so I stopped doing it until I've watched them in full.

I have no idea if what I posted was a spoiler or not either- that being the case if everything posted about a show that just dropped would have to be in spoilers other then general opinions.

Re: The Tick (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread

How about just as a simple courtesy.
Do you really have to watch a season the minute it drops and immediate run over here and post about the whole thing?

As I’ve mentioned not everyone has the time to do that.

Is it that hard to post a little warning or something,

Whatever, you do you.

I didn't post about the whole thing. But the only way to know that is to actually watch the whole series. It's not like the series is long- it's 10 20min episodes. Very easy to breeze through.

Exactly why I don't go into these treads until I've watched the entire series.

That is a shame. I thought the second season was fantastic.

Re: The Tick (Amazon) -- Series Discussion Thread

Damn I also thought the second season was a lot better than the first.
Not that the first was bad but a lot of the words coming out of their mouths and some of the scenarios reminded me too much of what I saw in the animated version which is often a problem with remakes and reboots.
I also didn't watch the first live version of The Tick when it was on network tv but then really liked those 7 episodes later on.

Their show runner says five would be ideal, but four would be ok. I think that show is popular enough to continue past 3.
