Re: Bachelor in Paradise

Finally watched the whole episode and yeah they would have definitely had to pay for the rights to paradise hotel as the format really is the same

I love Lacy, her cans/juggs/boobies/rack is just awesome and she seems cool too

Crazy michelle was just a waste of time, they could have had someone else more worthwhile in the show

this is way better than regular bachelor and more and more surpise people will rock up

that Ashlee is crazy !

Graham only gave her his rose to ashlee to guarantee her gets a rose next round

it wasn't Lacy's fault that marcus gave her a rose to Robert shouldn't be upset about that. Lacy isn't gonna turn down a rose from anyone as she wants to stay there

i know it sounds harsh, but sarah the girl with one arm is sooo sweet but i feel uneasy having her in the show because you can feel how her disability affects her confidence to be able to deal with the type of girls on this show. No doubt in the real world she could find a man easily but on this show, she has to compete with the most aggressive of alpha females and i don't like seeing her struggle to do so.

Yet she keeps putting herself in that position. I think she's a bit more manipulative than we're led to believe. Anybody that "risks" going on an established reality TV show knows what they're in for... then goes back for a dose of "Bachelor Pad" style hijinx? No sale.

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

Quick question for you guys that recommended Escape Club: How many episodes where there?

I went thru what was available On Demand on my cable and there were only 6 episodes available. I watched 1-7 (minus episode 5 which was missing for some reason) and it obviously does not end at #7. I checked the guide and the E! channel is not showing this show at all during the coming week (though they are showing the shit out of Botched and some Kardashian show).

That's the one thing I hate about our on demand service with our cable. I don't know why but they just arbitrarily leave random episodes out all the time. It irritates the crap out of me.

I think most people go on these shows hoping to make a living out of becoming a reality celebrity. Once you make a name for yourself, they hit the circuit of trashy reality fare.

.
I have Dish and it has 7 episodes (1-8) available. Episode 5 was missing. Episode 8 is titled "And the Winner is...." I downloaded them to watch later. Wondering if there even is an episode 5.

Given the connection he thought he had with her, he had a "right" to be upset to find out he was more a safety net than anything. If he spends 6 months in mourning, I'll say he was overboard, but when people develop feelings and get spurned right to their face, it hurts a bit. He was upset, but I don't think he went overboard or anything.

Good point, but she's done it before and she knows what she's up against. She's trying to push herself out of her comfort zone, which may not come without a few bumps and bruises (much like learning to ride a bike), but she thinks in the end it'll be worth it. Even though I don't think she can compete with these girls, I can't fault her desire to try. I'm all about people trying to be the best they can be and striving for success because you can be sure "failure" will introduce itself to you often enough in life without you inviting it in. She'll be OK.

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

My wife and I are. It's missing some of the National Geographic aspect that first got me interested in the franchise, but it's still nice to see all the personalities play out. I mean, skinny dipping is one thing, but skinny basketball? I'd imagine there are porn stars with more modesty than Lucy. As much as she seemed to know (of?) everyone, I can't imagine the girls who feel coupled were happy to see her parading around in the nude.

Still, I suspect there's at least one guy in the house to whom she'd have been invisible -- Marcus. Marcus had such a drawn out presentation of his rose I thought he was going to propose to Lacy right there in the rose ceremony. Ah, Marcus. If that relationship doesn't work out, the psychiatrist who does the post-elimination interviews should make sure to send him home with at least a six month supply of SSRI's. And throw in some Nitrous oxide as well because this guy smiles less than just about anyone I've ever seen on TV. And this includes characters like Hannibal Lector.

And Cody? Cody's my man of the season if for no other reason than as much as the women talk about wanting someone who knows what he wants, etc., as soon as a guy like that comes along, it's, "Hey, waitaminnit, this is going way too fast." Granted, nobody wants to be looked at and imagine a thought balloon showing "hamburger" (or steroids, as the case may be), but it's still fun to watch the brakes. Granted, it's a fine line between "committed" and "should be committed" but our entertainment lives in the gray areas. Too bad Clare ended up going home instead of going on the date with Cody. She missed out on just what she kept saying she was looking for. Michelle's gain.

Wait, are Marcus and Cody buds? Isn't that like mixing matter and anti-matter? Marcus takes happy news like someone just drove over his puppy, and Cody takes even sad news like he was just called to come on down on The Price is Right.

One of the amusing things about the show is how it puts out there how people really are.

person 1: "Do you really like me?"
person 2: "Absolutely. You're great..."
person 2 unspoken trailer thought: "... Until someone better -- or even just different -- comes along."

And folks, it's just the same no matter how pretty you are. Nature of the beast.

Oh, and one final thought. I think I've decided I know the words all single women most want to hear from a possible love interest: "I just want to have fun with you."

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

Graham is a dumbass. May be a nice guy, but still a dumbass.

And this show's format is broken. Too many people sticking with other people and it puts the new people at an immediate disadvantage. They should at least have to go out on a date if someone asks them to. And you can't give away dates.

At this point I don't care much about the finale. The people who "are in love" are boring or scared to say anything to rock the boat (though I do have a profound new respect for Zack after last night). He got rid of Claire in the nicest way possible that he could (due to this show's broken format).

It should be the exact opposite. You find love, you gotta split paradise. That would keep people mixing it up, trying new dates, creating more drama, etc.

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

I've read some interviews with Sarah and I'm impressed with her. She's obviously very pretty but has a confidence issue. She said that since the Bachelor, she has way more confidence in herself with men and has been promoted at work. Sure, she knows what she's in for, but she keeps putting herself out there. If I were single I'd definitely want to get to know her more.

From my understanding, the last two episodes no one is added and its just the couples deciding if they want to stay together.

I find Sarah very weak and pathetic. She's always playing the 'poor me' role.

I felt for Zach. Claire is her own worst enemy. Her insecurity and demands put a stop to any chance she had to continue with Zach beyond the game. I'm sure he was very relieved when she left.

He barely tried to stop her. I agree, she acted the same way with Juan Pablo and she keeps thinking it's the guys, not her. No it's you, queen crazy.

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

^Wow, I have to say I wasn't expecting such a post. What exactly do you mean when you say that you asked her out, she said yes, then she blew you off, etc.? Did you actually date her without knowing she was going on the show? Or was it just that you were friends and you hoped/expected more when you asked and she said yes but then you never went out?

Either way, it's an interesting perspective- Though I'm sure pretty brutal to go through. I'd actually expect the fact that she made a complete ass out of herself would make you feel better about the whole situation but it doesn't sound like it.

[NOTATION: for anyone reading later, the posts my comment below refers to have been deleted by the authors]
I appreciate the inside scoop, but...

Why are you mooning over Elise? She treated you like crap by your own account and you're still holding a torch. What exactly are you missing? Stop letting a pretty face/body make you ignore her character. Instead of pining over some chick who pretends you don't exist, how about taking out some more modest looking woman (even if she doesn't look like a swimsuit model), is decent, and would treat you well? I'm not flaming you. I'm 100% serious. Stop it.
[END NOTATION]

And now, back to the show...

I have no problem with Sarah as a person, but anytime she wants to stop talking with the intonations of a 6 year old, fine by me.

From my understanding, the last two episodes no one is added and its just the couples deciding if they want to stay together.
Christy and Jesse Kovacs were new and stayed. Lucy and Kalon were new and didn't pan out. That didn't bother me in the slightest because Lucy was pretty underhanded to her "friend" Christy, and Kalon... well, I'd never actually seen Kalon before as I didn't watch Emily's season of The Bachelorette, but... wow. Even allowing for the possibility he's playing a character, it's like he's on a completely different show without even the illusion of trying to find a romantic partner (as opposed to a f-buddy). He definitely gets my vote for Mr. Sensitivity. "Is a child baggage? I don't know. I guess it depends on who's carrying it." That said, at least you know where you stand with the guy. I'd be willing to bet on Emily's season, he's not the only one who felt that way, he's just (apparently) the only one to say it. Some people appreciate the directness, some don't.

Which brings me back to Zach and Clare (thanks for the reminder).

Clare: What if the shoe was on the other foot? What would you do?
Zack: What do you mean? [Does Mensa take nominations?]
Clare: Like, if a girl rolled in here, or if a girl got a date card and rolled in here, and I was like, "It's up to you." What would you say?
Zack: I think it just depends on who the girl was.

Re: Bachelor in Paradise

Thanks man, I just deleted that stuff because I don't need the grief at work. Would you guys please delete posts that quoted me? Thanks. Believe me, I really want nothing to do with her after all this.

Knew who I was everyday while she was here, avoided me like the plague when she left. I can live with it, has happened to me before. It sucks having to be reminded all day long though, be it on tv, the local news, or around where I live.

Just been a crappy year since this all happened.

That sounds harsh. It sounds like this woman is a user and got DthRdr's hopes up, when he probably should have realized her game.

Pretty much ... but when she made a big deal out of inviting me to her birthday party that year I should have known better. I take full responsibility for being an idiot.

I agree, which is why I deleted the post and apologized to DthRdrX, which I hope he accepts.
