I think X-Files is essentially review proof. it's only 6 episodes and the show has been off the air for 13 years. All the hardcore fans are going to watch it no matter what the reviews say.

The reviews that came out a month and a half ago were all good. Google them. For some reason this one indieWIRE review is being plastered all over social media, being 'shared' by all the sites. The reviewer is obviously a complete newbie to the show and doesn't seem to know that by the end of Season 7 Mulder and Scully were lovers and had a child, William, that is 15 years-old at the start of this revival. This isn't a reboot. It's Season 10 of The X-Files. It's not the show's fault if aspects of the characters remain a mystery to someone watching this upcoming revival blank.

Oh, as soon as it (and any subsequent) makes it to physical media I'll have it in my collection, I have no doubt about that. The X-Files is and has been one of my all time favorite TV shows.
