If anyone here was a fan of The Cancel Bear over on tvbythenumbers.com, you should know that the guy behind that has left that site and now has his own site: http://www.tvgrimreaper.com/

It's not clear if they'll still be predicting show cancellations on the Zap2it site or just reporting the ratings.

I think you have a typo. Minority Report had 3.3M.

You're correct, it's 3.09m per TvBTN. I accidentally put Whose Line Is It Anyway's numbers there.

4.49 for Gotham. How is that compared to the first season?

I wouldn't worry about Gotham's future. Fox will want to remain in the business of Batman if Batman v Superman becomes a cultural juggernaut next year. I would bet good money this show remains on the air for a minimum of five seasons even if the ratings crater. This is the type of show that could even produce spin-offs for Fox down the road.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Cancellations and Renewal News

I think Minority Report may end up a one-and-done season show. Which is too bad. I read that the show dumped the show-runner after the pilot and got one of the people from the West Wing who did the great show Journeyman to take over starting at the second episode.

I saw his name on the credits. The guy you speak of is Kevin Falls. He did work on Journeyman and was recently the Producer/co-creator of Franklin and Bash.

Week 2 or 3 will really decide if Minority Report is a flat out ratings bomb or just got lost in the shuffle with all the shows that were on.

I was hoping Limitless would get better ratings than that number. It's not a horrible number but that could represent its ceiling.

Modern Family still rakes in the numbers. Although we still watch, I think its inferior to the two that precede it.

Still, the show opened to one of it's lowest viewers. Not a good start to the season even though I enjoyed the episode. No idea why people aren't watching this. Penguin and Riddler alone are worth the view.

Muppets doubled Scream Queens, nice. Just how I wanted to see it. Wonder what Fox thinks of the ratings. And with what is being added on the night (looks like a really dumb Uncle Jesse show with Josh Peck and Fred Savage with Rob Lowe) I don't think that will help it. Wonder what Fox thinks with all of their ads pushing the show like crazy.

Nice holdover for Black-ish. Kind of surprising as I'm sure Empire and Black-ish cater to a lot of the same target audience. Modern Family still holds onto a good audience chunk, but Empire just crushes viewers. This is better than The Walking Dead, no? And SVU just gets lost in that time. But damn are there a LOT of people watching TV on Wednesday nights at 9.

Overnight numbers are sometimes quite deceiving. The sampled audience that Nielsen uses is quite small. And so many people just don't watch their shows live anymore. The DVR, on demand and streaming has fractured live viewing.

True, but for advertisers (DVR you can skip commercials at least) it still has to be looked at. Wonder how the +3 numbers will be.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Cancellations and Renewal News

Gotham can live and die on Penguin and Riddler (who I agree are good) but the lack of Batman has to be hurting, when you can flip the channel and practically see the Justice League on other shows.

I think they should have built most of the mythology on the Court of Owls from the beginning, rather than just talking about it now.

Mistresses renewed for a 4th season

However, Jennifer Esposito isn't returning. Good. It ended the season on a pretty big cliffhanger.
