Season 1 was good. The subplots in season 2 have been near unwatchable. I wouldn't be surprised if it's shut down.

Sadly, no loss here if it is cancelled. They lost two of the better characters this season, and added a terrible character. Also the season long arc is kind of meh.

Since pretty much none of you watch TV the night it airs anymore, these kinds of reports are pretty of little meaning to you. Deadline thinks on FOX the only real "bubble" show is the comedy Going Dutch. It has the lowest viewership among their scripted shows

This show is starting to click. Not great but we watch it and enjoy it.

Of course Fox's only funny sitcom is on the bubble.:(
It's a great vehicle for Denis Leary.

NBC cancelled all their 1st run syndicated programming, including any talk shows and Access Hollywood.

I didn't know The Steve Wilkos show was still on the air.

Most local affiliates don't air syndicated shows anymore. It's cheaper for them to add newscasts at 3pm instead of airing talk shows.

I think Kelly Clarkson's show is NBC. If she didn't quit, she probably would have gotten the axe as well.

It is produced and distributed by NBC.

Last week, Pink hosted Kelly’s show for her and my wife and I thought she did a great job and we could see her taking over the slot once TKCS ended.

But not now with this announcement.

Sucks local news is on all the time and don't need it every hour of the day.

I was flipping through the daytime channel guide the other day for the local broadcast networks - NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS together must have had over 20 hours of local news and local news-adjacent content per day. Any decent scripted content has been moved to sub-channels in awful SD quality.

Do cities really need 4 separate weather reports?

It's probably some of the most watched local content for some reason and cheaper to produce than licensing scripted content, I'd guess. What I don't really get is a lot of these channels are owned by the same company and duplicate their content so it really is a waste.

The Corporations that own the local stations are trying to get the FCC to relax the ownership laws so they can own 2 or 3 stations in the same market and then simulcast the same news and weather on multiple channels. So you'll only have 1 or 2 different weather reports if this legislation passes. Cord cutting has caused a lot of this. The cable subscription bundle was very profitable for the TV industry when you had everyone paying for the local and cable channels whether they watched them or not. Now retransmission fee revenue (the money the local stations charge cable companies to air their content) and ad sales are down and they're cutting costs and that includes most syndicated programming.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

I was down SW Florida last week for spring training games and our local news there is basically 5 channels.
ABC
CBS
NBC
FOX
and a CW channel

3 of those channels simulcast the same news program
The other 2 simulcast the other news programs

So ABC and NBC are one
The other three are another ONE for news and weather so really only 2 different news and weather broadcasts there.

I really don't understand any of that or how that happens.

In Philly it's the 4 major networks all separate and competing for ratings.

Yeah our NBC and CBS affiliates are owned by the same parent company. They merged the news departments shortly after NBC was bought.

ABC pulled the plug on the newest season of The Bachelorette due to domestic violence claims against Taylor Frankie Paul: https://www.tvline.com/2127480/the-b...ason-canceled/

They never should have cast her to begin with.

They don’t care she attacked the bf. They do care that the video shows her throwing bar stools at him, very close to her daughter.

DMV wasn't bad for a new sitcom. I hope NBC's Stumble at least hangs around.
