I caught the pilot for Vampire Academy somewhere and it wasn't half bad for a teen vamp series. Not going to subscribe to Peacock for it, however.

It's heavily believed Siesta Key on MTV isn't coming back unless maybe it gets a new and younger cast - the season finale finished with a montage and goodbye to everyone, not to mention social media innuendo from the cast which leaves it coming back in serious doubt.

The CW is cutting down their total of scripted shows for the 2023-2024 season to three and that includes All American. They made a deal to air golf instead.

Pretty much everything on the CW is getting canceled.

Not going to bump a dead thread, but Hulu canceled the comedy Reboot.

The Cleaning Lady on FOX was picked up for a 3rd season

That show must be pretty cheap to make even though it's made by an outside studio and they only produced 2 short seasons.

Probably closer to 5 mil an episode, which is not really cheap, but maybe cheap nowadays. A shitty CW show is about 2-3 mil an episode and I'm sure COVID costs ballooned many others.

I heard Superman and Lois costs over $5M an episode. That’s why I’m kind of leery it stays on The CW. They basically fired their whole in house development department the other day.

Hmmm .... Blue Bloods.

Hope it comes back, even if only for a half-season.

It's no surprise. It's a 13 season show that's filmed in NYC and very expensive. The story says they are looking to slash the budget. If it gets a 14th season, it's probably the last one.

Sounds like the show All Rise is likely getting canceled a 2nd time. WB released the cast from their contracts meaning they are free to look for other jobs. Season 3B hasn't aired yet and supposedly the ratings on OWN weren't great.

I watched a couple episodes with my wife when it swapped to OWN. The tone of the show got very different. The focus went to Lola and her relationship, with an ex coming into play taking up a ton of screen time. Anything court related became a backdrop for that drama. Not surprised it's getting cancelled.

I totally agree. It seemed that more time was spent on the clothes the actors wore than on plot or character development. I gave up after one or two episodes and totally forgot about the show.

It went from CBS to OWN - what did anyone expect? Massive budget cuts.

Budget cuts weren't the reason for the change to the show; the network and the audience of that network were. It went from courtroom show lightly based on the lives of the characters to a romantic drama based on Lola specifically and her steamy ex coming back into her life. Courtroom procedural turned soap opera.

Wonder how many cancelations will happen due to wga negotiations or possibly going on strike.

Pretty sure that happened back in 2007 and will likely happen here, as well.

The creator of Las Vegas (on nbc 2003-2008) thought the 2007-2008 strike led to it being abruptly canceled.

SWAT has yet to be renewed for a 7th season. It's been doing well this year in viewership this year.

Shawn Ryan gave a quick update and as usual with most shows, the studio and network are fighting over money/budget.

I still watch it regularly. Hopefully it comes back. I can tell there are definitely budgetary concerns because there will be random episodes where certain secondary characters (Street, Deacon, Luca) that are nowhere to be seen for the entire episode.

And I'm pretty sure in the 7th season, Shemar Moore will get a raise and will likely get an EP credit as well.
