Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

Good shows go to die on WGN America. No one watches the channel, so even great material has a hard time finding an audience. I should be happy that Salem got three seasons...

Hit the Floor was renewed for a 4th season. Will now air on BET.

Wow, really surprised. The way the show ended after the 1 hour special, I thought it was done. They left no loose threads.

Also, The Breaks will move from VH1 to BET

BET will also produce a scripted Death Row records and Bobby Brown miniseries similar to the New Edition miniseries last year.

Emerald City, which hardly anyone watched, was cancelled by NBC.

A shame because the first season had extraordinary craftsmanship for network TV.

Exorcist was great, I don't like this poll.

No Tomorrow and Frequency were officially canceled, unsurprisingly. Was sort of hoping Netflix would do a second season of No Tomorrow, seems like a good fit for them.

Upset about Frequency. No Tomorrow, I could not care less about.

Scandal to end after next season: http://deadline.com/2017/05/abc-scan...-7-1202088897/

I bailed midway through season 5. Just got tedious and hated the back and forth with Olivia and Fitz.

I got burned out on this one a season or so back, -the need to top themselves in terms of outrageous plot-turns just made the show ridiculous and the characters became obnoxious.

Season 1 had a nice premise but it got old fast. Tried the new cast in a single ep just to see where it went and I eye-rolled.

It is a different America now:

Last Man Standing has been cancelled. Yes, cancelled and not renewed.

Super bummed about Timeless. I'm doubtful but hope it gets a new home. I was hoping they'd at least get 8-13 episodes to wrap the series and let NBC pad out the schedule.

Aside from the wife watching to watch This is Us, no reason to support NBC.

The sad fact is that these niche shows that are serialized involve science fiction elements just don't work or appeal to the broadcast network audience.

The people with Nielsen boxes aren't the audience these are made for and that's why they end up losing viewers and getting cancelled.

That's a shame about Son of Zorn. It was funny at times and felt like a show just hitting its stride. Making History was awful after a strong pilot.

APB wasn't terrible if you wanted to see Tony Stark in a police procedural.

I don't know why FOX even bothers putting any sci-fi shows on the air.
