Queen of the South on USA was renewed for a 2nd season.
However, they will have a new head writer/showrunner in season 2. They hired one of the writers of 12 Monkeys to oversee it.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News
A) Lucy Hale and a few others said they were done after Season 7. This was right after the big reveal of who "A" was during the midseason reveal in I believe 6.
B) Marlene King and I believe the actress who played the lesbian (not Spencer, Hannah, or Lucy Hale's character) said there is talks of it going after Season 7 with different characters and another story.
So I think it was planned, but if the ratings were still good, it would have probably kept going. I stopped after one of the worst reveals in TV history (more disappointing then the ending of Dexter) and it seemed like a lot of people did. For some reason, others want to blame it going from ABC Family to being rebranded to Freeform.

I know most here don't care about Gordon Ramsay and his shows anymore, but FYI Hell's Kitchen was renewed through season 18.
Season 16 premieres at the end of the month.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News
So I've decided this TV season to not pay attention to ratings. I'm not visiting tvbythenumbers.com anymore and won't mention ratings in posts.
If a show I like doesn't make it, so be it. I was finding that paying too much attention to it and being obsessive about those damn numbers made watching TV a less pleasurable experience.
For the record, I could not stand those obsessive ratings nuts who post over there. Some of them made obsessing about ratings and mocking shows with bad ratings their life.
If a new show doesn't make it and gets cancelled, I will still post the news in this thread. But for now on, I don't give a crap about the numbers anymore.

I don't get hung up on numbers. This year I'm waiting a couple weeks to see which shows are getting good buzz. If they are good I'll OnDemand the first couple and DVR the rest.

I have dropped shows I've liked if the ratings are absolutely terrible and guarantee cancellation.

Look at a show like Beauty and the Beast on The CW. Got horrible ratings its entire 4 season run, but the network gave it 4 seasons because the streaming numbers were apparently good and international sales since CBS owns the rights and partially owns the network.

I guess I will start paying attention to numbers if I am invested in a show and I know it is doing poorly. I won't give up until a notice comes down though. Just curious to see if fan awareness picks it up ie. like Chuck.

I don't care about ratings with regards to whether I watch a show or not. All I care about is if the show is good or not and whether I enjoy watching it. There are plenty of shows that get good ratings that I gave up on, like Empire. There are also plenty of shows that had low ratings, but rabid followings that I have given up on, like Hannibal. If I don't like a show, Im not going to watch it. No amount of ratings is going to get me to watch something that I don't enjoy. That being said, if there is a show that I like that is struggling, I will pay closer attention to the ratings.
