Shows that can show stability or growth can get renewed a lot more easily.

How I Met Your Mother is another one that was nearly canned after lackluster ratings in its first season but wound up quite popular.

The Blacklist: Redemption (spinoff of the original show) picked up to series.

Ryan Eggold will be leaving the original show to star in this one.

(On a huge tangent).

Wonder how many "sloppy seconds" cases made it big subsequently, such as the JAG/NCIS franchise.

NBC cancels The Mysteries of Laura after 2 seasons. One of the rare busts from Greg Berlanti's resume.

Semi-interesting article on "stacking rights" and how the networks are using it as "leverage" to bash over the heads of outside studios, and how it is changing pilot season.

For anyone curious, here's next week's up front schedule:

Monday: NBC and FOX

Tuesday: ABC

Wednesday: CBS

Thursday: The CW

There is a chance NBC's Fall schedule could be announced on Sunday. Like previous years, it's usually reported a day early.

Code Black, the Odd Couple, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Undercover Boss all officially renewed by CBS today.

No official word yet on Limitless.

Rush Hour was canned. http://deadline.com/2016/05/rush-hou...on-1201754467/

Still no word on Limitless  They're probably trying to negotiate more appearances by Cooper.

We watch the Odd Couple but every time I see it I can't get over how lousy it is. If you look up forced humor, forced delivery on Wikipedia this show pops up

Completely agree. I found the show to be a riot, especially when they went live.

I figured it was the final season with Kristen Bell having the new show on NBC with Ted Danson.

It's amazing how adeptly Bates Motel took its original inspiration and ran with it, while Damien ruined any chance of a compelling update to The Omen.

Really like this show. My son turned me on to it when he bought me the DVD's for s1 and 2 for Christmas. Finally got around to starting the series a couple months ago. Have 2 more to get to the end of s2. Looking forward to s3

I heard there was talk of Nashville getting shopped around to other networks, however it looks like all of their props just got listed for auction so I guess that it is dead-dead.

If Nashville somehow gets picked up post-cancellation, it wouldn't surprise me if they move it to Los Angeles. There was some speculation they were thinking about moving filming to Austin, Texas as well.

It's one of the better one-season shows in recent memory. CBS's "remake" lasted all of one season.

Also, why does CBS even bother with genre series? All they do is cancel stuff after one year. It would have made sense to move Limitless to their streaming service as a companion to Star Trek. They're really putting all their eggs in one basket thinking Trek alone will be able to fund that service.

Bates is currently their only scripted series.

Unless A&E somehow develops and launches a breakout hit in the next year, I'll be done with them after Bates end. I have no interest in any of their reality shows.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

A&E is looking for critical acclaim and buzz with their scripted content. They have been ruthless with their scripted content's standards.
