Exactly, many shows have thrived on Fridays. And how mach does that really matter given how many don't watch shows live anymore (DVR or steam after the fact). At this point the ONLY content I watch live is sports, and even then I occasionally record games that don't involve the home teams.

Speaking of shows on Fridays, did I miss any news about Grimm? Not sure if it there has been any news about it getting renewed or officially stating this will be the last season. The show doesn't seem to have the support it once did.

I noticed that Syfy seems to be moving all its Friday shows to Monday.

Fox has renewed Empire and Screen Queens. It's also doing a limited Prison Break series and new 24 pilot (sans Keifer).

On the other side of the coin, has there been any tv shows with ascending ratings, which were moved to a crappier time slot while the ratings were still going up?
In the old days, shows would generally begin in "softer" spots in the network schedule and move up to better spots as they got older. That doesn't really happen anymore, networks make big bets on new shows succeeding from the get-go. The audience has become so fractured for most television that few shows directly compete over the same viewers anymore. Which is why it was insane when CBS put Supergirl directly up against Gotham.

Networks do that all the time. All the new medical dramas got scheduled against ER, for example. They think they have to win every time slot by stealing viewers rather than attract viewers that want to watch something that's different from what the other network is showing at the time.

I haven't heard anything about it being renewed nor dropped so far.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt picked up for a 3rd season by Netflix: http://deadline.com/2016/01/unbreaka...ix-1201684929/

Season 2 doesn't premiere until April 15th

There was a report that Netflix plans to spend $6 Billion for new content this year. Crazy.

Chicago Med and Law and Order: SVU renewed by NBC: http://deadline.com/2016/02/law-orde...al-1201693953/

Dick Wolf signed a new deal with NBC through 2020. Only a matter of time before NBC officially greenlights Chicago Law.

I didn't watch, but critics seemed to praise it.

Any idea if story lines wrapped up?

If The Grinder doesn't pick up in ratings it is almost certainly a goner. The ratings for it have cratered at 9:30 PM in Fox's new comedy block. Which is a shame since it's been the funniest network series this season.

Netflix announced on Friday morning that it has renewed its Emmy-winning prison drama Orange Is the New Black for three additional seasons, extending its run through at least Season 7.

How the hell does SVU keeping getting renewed long after the much better original was canceled? Never understood that.

SVU always had higher ratings than the original. Would not surprise me if SVU makes it to season 20 either. It's still doing really well for a show approaching 18 years old.

I'm amazed SVU is still on the air. I enjoyed it for many years, but I haven't watched since at least 2010.
