What happened to Masters after his talk with Vivian when he dropped his keys? Was that like a panic attack of sorts?

He was just crying, I think, after hearing the news about his friend. Tied in to the Rose storyline, and prompted Masters to say what he said to her. He is clearly disturbed by the way these characters shame themselves into self harm.

I love this show. Only the second episode and I'm already hooked.
