My wife watches all of these shows, Honey Boo Boo, Breaking Amish, Pitbulls and Paroles, Bachelorette, Survivor, etc. She has a Ivy League masters degree in Artificial Intelligence ironically. I can't be in the same room as these shows, it's so completely fake.

I rank that show right up there with Toddlers & Tiaras, fucking bullshit garbage TV. I think the only requirement to watch shit like that is that you have a brain full of mush, and like tommyp007 alluded to: No dignity or self-respect.

I think I enjoyed the first couple of seasons of Survivor. Now, it is unwatchable, every single episode is just one contestant lying in the face of another contestant with this "I'll vote for you if you'll vote for me". I'm not a fan at all. But I understand your point.

I don't watch Honey Boo Boo... but not every show has to be some deep, engrossing tale that enlightens mankind. Sometimes people like to shut their brains off for a few hours.

I've never seen an episode, but I did see Honey Boo Boo and her mother on Fallon recently. Fallon is one of those guys that always tries to make his guests look good, but despite his efforts she still came off as an insufferable, obnoxious little brat. I can't imagine what a dreadful teenager she is going to be.

The same people responsible for just about an entire channel dedicated to the vapid Kardashian family with the 8 or so shows, I think, that they are airing.

I can't stand reality TV, for the most part, as there is no redeeming quality to it. I will admit that I watch cooking reality shows.. but those are more like competitions and at least have some goal to them and you get to see interesting food made. I also watch The Amazing Race because I like seeing all the different countries that they go to. Plus, its not a popularity contest and the winning team is the team that actually worked to get that win.

Unfortunately my fiancee watches Honey Boo Boo, but I just leave the room or play around on my iPad when she does. I can't stand the show, but she laps it up.
