Too bad that Andre Braugher wasn't captain of that sub.

See this is what I love about Jack. He does whatever it takes and doesn't care about the ramifications.

According to the "experts" at Entertainment Weekly Radio since the ratings are low and "no one is talking about" this season, they said they don't think FOX would order another season of 24.

i haven't seen any overseas 24 ratings, but it was huge in the past. i think with everything shifting to the way ratings are + overseas ratings, it could possibly get more seasons.

"No one is talking about this season" IMO is highly subjective. The 24 Facebook page has almost 5M likes and I see 24 being talked about all the time on Twitter. Also, 24 is getting alot of coverage in the media. Again, the Nielsen numbers aren't really giving the big picture. 5.5 to 6M viewers per week on FOX during the summer, which isn't the most watched period for live television in general isn't bad. I'm sure there are plenty of people who haven't watched a single episode yet because they want to watch all 12 hours non-stop binge style. People are choosing to watch 24 in different ways these days.

EW is clueless. The show has been getting solid numbers in both number of viewers and in the 18-49 demo. And to say no one is talking about it is just silly - it's probably the most talked about network show on social media right now. It's gotten MUCH better ratings that some of the shows FOX renewed this season (such as THE FOLLOWING).

The people they have on those EW shows are fucking idiots who barely know anything about pop culture. It's infuriating.

Yeah, you don't have to tell me. A few of them blocked me on Twitter probably because I criticized them and their lack of entertainment knowledge and constantly getting things wrong.

With the amount of pop culture which goes on around us, plus the fact that that's their fucking job, that is kind of amazing.

Re: 24: Live Another Day (S9E10) -- "8:00pm to 9:00pm" -- 6/30/14

Seeing the reactions of others to Chang's surprise appearance, I suspect last night saw a collective audible exclamation across America of "What. The. Fuc*?!" like few others in all of history.

Me? Damn do I love this - we're not just going to get the Russians and closure there, but the Russians +/versus Chang and the Chinese?!? Gonna be two crazy final episodes... Is there any mumbling/whispers that this might not be the end of 24? I've been having a bad feeling, considering the amped up nature of this season, Jack might not survive in the end of this current mess. Likewise, I haven't been bothered yet to see if there's any news of what, if anything, might come after this season.

This has been 24 at some of its absolute finest - now the drone override and Al'Harrazi plot seems so obvious; that it was abruptly stolen, while all along bigger plans were in store for it. Considering how 24 used to frequently seem as though the staff writers were making things up as they went along, the level of detailed planning and logical twists+turns has been a genuine bright spot this year.

At least it wasn't a spoon.

Show is ramping up nicely. It's a lot easier to forgive absolutely inane plot contrivances when the show is this well paced.

I don't know who is the bigger badass Jack or Kate, and we need Audrey to bitch slap her husband.
For all you Magic players

EW had a mass "purge" (i.e., buyouts and firings) of its top staff/best writers over the past year or so...most of the people remaining are pretty young and pretty clueless when it comes to entertainment quality or entertainment history.

EW has been a joke for years. I get the magazine because it comes free with my MovieStop card, but it takes about 1 min to read it. Terrible.

"I'm not asking, this is me being courteous" Shoulder bump. Haha. Jack just whipped his dong out and smacked him across the face with it.

Why was that dude being so by the book and all about watching his own ass? Heller specifically said to give Jack whatever the hell he wanted.

He was doing well after initially not wanting Kate in the field, but then he magically turned back to no-nonsense mode even though the stakes are even higher now.

I guess because of what Navarro said. He's the station head now... so anything that happens could be blamed on him.

But since Heller said to provide Jack with whatever he needed, he had the President's backing, at least on that matter.

Yeah they made that guy into quite a tool overall. At least it did give us this line from Jack: "Just so we're clear, I wasn't asking for permission. That was just me being polite." Followed by a classic shoulder bump as he walked by. Loved it.
