That better be the most absorbent bandaid ever that Jack used to cover up that incision.

It's okay. That bandaid probably protected Heller.

I wonder why they only did 12 episodes when the show is called 24? Was this originally planned as a miniseries? Just a financial thing?

Didn't Heller have a son too? Logan Marshall Green played him I believe. No wonder why he was an addict. Ignored in family pics.

Pretty good episode. Will be interesting to see where they go from here, although it's pretty obvious Margot will either continue with her plans or the guy she's working with will go rogue and renege on the deal.

Hard to really say whether or not Heller did the right thing given the huge implications of a president negotiating with terrorists. The fact that he technically resigned makes it a little better and once it's revealed he was going to be stepping down because of his illness anyway that would probably make a bit of difference.

Glad he gave Jack his long overdue presidential pardon. Was glad to see Audrey's husband didn't rat out Jack as being involved in taking Heller to the stadium, but I imagine she'll figure that out eventually.

At least now that someone close to Jack has been killed we can look forward to him kicking some serious ass from here on out. Loved the "wake the bitch up" line.

But I do have a few complaints...

First, I liked that the tech guy who got shot was smart enough to distract the assassin and take both of his weapons. However, that was quickly ruined by him falling for the "do you even know if the safety is on?" cliche. There's no way he was that stupid and it was just lazy writing.

Second, I agree about the band-aid thing. Sure, it's a minor complaint, but why didn't they just show Jack doing some quick stitches or at least put down gauze and wrap a bandage? Would've taken the same amount of time and seemed more realistic.

I'm calling it that one of the systems Chloe got access to was the targeting of the drone missiles. In the last second, she caused the missile to go off course and hit the ground a little bit away from Heller. It looks to Margot that she got him. Heller is knocked on his ass and Jack is able to get to him under cover of the smoke.

WOW! - for the 2nd week in a row.

Even though not much action, the somber music throughout the episode made it really intense.

Didn't think about the silent clock until it was mentioned here. But I don't see how Heller could escape that direct hit.

Assuming he did die, I didn't think the writers had the balls to do that. I was waiting for Chloe to stop it somehow, or for something to malfunction, but damn - they actually killed the President.

And I don't mean like killing (Day 5 spoiler)...
Spoiler:
David Palmer, an ex-President.

Sure, Heller mentioned he resigned moments beforehand, but technically, he was still the President.

This episode reminded me of a couple past 24 episodes:

Spoiler:

---Day 2: Bauer flying the nuke into the desert
---Day 3: Bauer killing Ryan Chappelle

I also laughed at the band-aid and bitch moments.

You have the PoTUS surrender to a terrorist organization and instead of torturing him and getting to confess to his crimes on video, you immediately blow him up? And mess up the Wembley Pitch in the process? Terrible plan. Maybe she really is Cat Stark.
Hope that computer analyst has one of Jack's magic band aids with him.

Agree Heller deserved a silent clock.

I think they've killed like four presidents and had another two resign in disgrace. I don't think the writers are that worried about it.

President Heller

at the Super absorbent magic band aid. That's up with the cloak of invisibility.

Reed is the only one who knows that Navarro is the traitor. I think he survived despite the nasty stab wound.

at the Wake up the bitch line. That was awesome.

Pretty certain that the actual Wembley Stadium field was undisturbed, it would've been expensive if they needed to repair the actual sod. The explosion was just CGI. It probably would be cool had Jack landed right on the midfield, but again it would mess up the actual field and be expensive to repair.

On a side note, it's funny everybody that died working at Section 20 all ended up here on 24. Well, at least Baxter and Sinclair did...

I think at this point, Jack using a band-aid is just the writers trolling the viewers who have seen other injuries quickly go away.

Re: 24: Live Another Day (S9E08) -- 200th Episode -- "6:00pm to 7:00pm" -- 6/16/14

Another GREAT episdoe. I really liked Heller being willing to sacrifice himself, and Jack knew he'd have done the same thing. The pardon is a great way to keep things going for Jack/24, if Fox so chooses (and I hope they do).

But yeah, this drove me crazy because it was so ridiculous:

My wife mentioned that band-aid as well, and I said "What does it matter...he's going to his own death."

I liked the fact that, even though no one knew he was coming, Wembley Stadium made sure to turn on the lights and unlock the gates for the President.

As noted by others, Heller deserved a 'silent clock'...I can't believe they didn't give him one. This is one case where I would fully support a change on home video.

Of course, Simone would die after giving up the information...the show no longer needs her, so they kill her off.

GREAT performance by Devane last night. He had some great lines, including "I'm glad you're not a surgeon, Jack." and (after Jack levels his Secret Service man) "Jeezus, Jack!"

To be fair! I think Jack did ask for pass codes to Wembley as one of the things he would need.

I agree that the magic band aid was a nod to fans. It would have been easy enough for Jack to throw two stitches or glue the incision with Derma Bond. Certainly if he could remove the tracker with a scalpel, he could do that. Do Presidents really have that sort of a locator inserted into their arms?

When did Jack learn to fly a helicopter? I remember him once taking a helicopter ride over 100 miles from L.A. To UCSB in like ten minutes, but he had a pilot for that ride (as well as others I seem to recall).

Are you really questioning what skills Jack Bauer has?

Fact ID #4659: Jack Bauer gets into a helicopter and fly's it upside down to mow his lawn.

Heller is definitely gone. Simone is not though. She just had a seizure. I think she will ultimately betray her mom and be the one to take her down. I would think they might use the time jump in the final hour to show Heller's funeral/news of VP taking over. Next week, we need to see Jack, Kate & Chloe regroup to gather intel on how to find Margot with the help of Simone.
