Book spoilers:

Spoiler:
So no Lady Stoneheart tonight. Let the mock outrage and bullshit bitching commence. Personally I am so goddamned glad they decided to leave that until next year. Easily the best Finale since Season 1. That is not even up for debate.

Mod note: post another spoiler in here without tags, and you can expect swift action. Not acceptable

Re: Game of Thrones (S4E10) -- Season Finale -- "The Children" -- 6/15/14

So will The Mountain become some sort of Frankenstein's monster now? I imagine him being like Bane from Batman & Robin.

So now there are three "creatures" north of the wall? The white walkers, wights and re-animated skeletons? And then something called The Children?

I was hoping that guy could make Bran walk again. I feel bad for Hodor have to drag/carry him around.

Is it pointless to hope that somehow The Hound survives?

Nothing on Littlefinger?

I was hoping Arya was going to meet up with her uncle. How come we haven't gotten an update on those family members since the Red Wedding? Are they presumed dead?

Hey guys, can you put the names of characters from that books that haven't appeared in the show yet in SPOILER tags?

I'm feeling kind of mixed on this one. I'm pissed because I love the portrayal of Tywin by Dance. But I'm happy to see Tyrion get his revenge. The Hound's death is a major bummer. I could watch a whole season of just him and Arya traveling the world together. I'll have to watch it again. But it definitely left me 'meh'.

Re: Game of Thrones (S4E10) -- Season Finale -- "The Children" -- 6/15/14

I thought it was a great episode, except for the fight between Brienne & the Hound. That seemed random and out of nowhere to me. Loved the rest, and that it finally moved some storylines forward. Well, everyone but Daenerys who seems to be just..doing the same stuff.

This episode being on father's day was priceless.

This was my favorite episode of Game of Thrones so far, and I am not just saying that because of Oberyn Martell, but he sure as hell helped.

Hope the Mountain dies next season. I mean, come on.

Re: Game of Thrones (S4E10) -- Season Finale -- "The Children" -- 6/15/14

Arya handing over the coin and saying, "Valar Morghulis," gave me goosebumps.

Tyrion was great in the tower. I had a feeling Jamie would free him. Too bad he didn't end his sister. I love how Varys did an about-face and climbed aboard the ship after heard the alarm bells.

Thankful to be spared from Ramsay and Theon.

Nice play by Stannis. Be interested to see where they begin that story next season.

Dinklage needs another Emmy for this season.

Fantastic visual with Stannis's army riding in.

Not a book reader but I simply can't imagine life is going to be pleasant in Kings Landing out anyone to reign in Cersei.

Remember all the people bitching after the Red Wedding about how the show was going to be boring because the Lannister's basically 'won'?

I was definitely worried about the show after that. I felt like there was no one to root for and that the Lannisters won so what was the point?

Then Oberyn (RIP) showed up & I had someone to root for. Then he died & broke my heart, but now this happened and the Lannisters are in big trouble so I was wrong on all counts.

I was ready to quit the show after that.

Great finale.

Somehow, dumb me, I read about the big spoiler a few weeks ago, so I was expecting that. But the rest was great.

Right now, I'm not planning to read the books, so next season should be great.

Well, I think I still know who's still alive by the end of Book 5.

I was thinking there were three safe characters. I don't read the books, so this is just based on the show. But I'll spoiler it anyway:

Spoiler:
Tyrion, Dany, John Snow. If I had to guess a fourth, Arya.

Hodor seems untouchable. I could see him sitting on the Iron Throne...controlled by Bran, of course, who also controls the dragons. (I'm not a book reader obviously...just my crazy speculation).

Not quite:

Book 3 spoilers:
Spoiler:
It looks like they're saving the election of the new commander of the Night's Watch for next year.

Re: Game of Thrones (S4E10) -- Season Finale -- "The Children" -- 6/15/14

I was really bummed out by
Spoiler:
the lack of LSH
Some general thoughts:

-did anybody else's audio fuck up during the last 5 minutes? I have Uverse. That pissed me off.
-the scene with The Hound and Arya was great
-the skeletons that Bran and Co fought were the worst CGI I've seen in years. Sorry, but that completely took me out of the scene. How that was acceptable by D&D I can't understand. It's like the show ran out of budget so they had to hire some high school computer graphics students to complete that scene.
-on the other hand, the dragons (most of the time) looked awesome. Kudos for that CG at least.
-Brienne and Hound fight was solid except for some poor editing here and there (punches clearly not connecting). When the Hound started pounding her face I thought
Spoiler:
that the Hound was taking Biter's role in the books where Brienne gets beaten to a pulp

-I thought the best part of the episode were the opening scenes with Stannis, Mance, Jon and Co.

I'll have more thoughts later, too tired.

Loved it. Best finale ever for me. And I need that ending music in my library yesterday. Best version of the theme after "For the Realm".
