Undateable (NBC) - Series Thread - From Executive Producer Bill Lawrence
Whether it's due to a lack of style, the wrong job, or even just a bad haircut, everyone goes through a time in their lives when they're undateable. Most of us eventually grow out of it, but some people need a little more help than others. Enter Danny Burton (Chris D'Elia, "Whitney"). Confident, attractive and impervious to outside opinions, 29-year-old Danny - who may be in a state of arrested development himself - decides to help out his new roommate, Justin Kearney (comedian Brent Morin), the owner of an unsuccessful bar and a chronic overthinker, and Justin's group of oddball friends - Shelly (comedian Ron Funches), Burski (comedian Rick Glassman) and Brett (David Fynn, "Game of Thrones"). Danny introduces the gang to his recently divorced older sister, Leslie (Bianca Kajlich, "Rules of Engagement"), who immediately bonds with this group of guys, as she feels a little stuck in her own life as well. The gang spends most of their time at Justin's bar, helping solve each other's respective problems over beers, and while they love to give each other a hard time, they always have each other's back.

I'll check it out because Bill Lawrence is behind it and Brent Morin's stand up is pretty funny. I can't stand that guy from Whitney though.

Each Lawrence show has gotten worse and worse since Scrubs (although I didn't even watch Surviving Jack or whatever the last one was called).

Ground Floor on TBS was actually pretty good IMO and it got renewed. Plus it has drop dead gorgeous Briga Heelan. It's nothing groundbreaking. It's a pretty standard 90s style multi camera sitcom, which most here seem to loathe.

She's gorgeous but I gave up after a few episodes. The main guy was too annoying.

Yikes. "Undateable"? More like unwatchable. And that awful joke would be right at home on this awful show. I couldn't even make it past the first commercial break. What a waste of a talented, likeable cast. I actually had no idea that this would be a multiple-camera sitcom with a laugh-track/audience. I just assumed it'd be like Scrubs or something. I honestly haven't been able to stomach a show with a laugh track since Seinfeld. I've moved on, so should the networks and show creators.

It looked okay, I guess I'll check it out on In Demand. No idea who any of the guys are, but I like the check from Rules of Engagement.

Yup. Pretty bad. Could be ok, if they toned down the Chris D'Elia, a lot!
More Briga Heelan would help.
Ron Funches was pretty funny though.

Chris Delia sounds like quite the feminist

I can't blame him for feeling like he can do or say whatever the hell he wants and stay on TV, I mean he was on Whitney and he's back quicker than an NFL offseason.

I find his performance on this show far more offensive than anything he said in that interview.

I thought this was great and will now fill in my comedy slot since Bad Teacher was brutally cancelled.

An excuse to bump this thread, as Deadline just reported that this show was picked up for a 10 episode second season. I consider this good news as I watched and enjoyed the show. It was not the greatest show on earth, but I did not feel like NBC robbed me of my time when I watched the eps on my TiVo.

Surprised this lasted beyond one season, and I actually tried to record it last night on CTV (along with One Big Happy), but they aired Anger Management & Hot In Cleveland instead. Odd.
