So the Tate Donovan character is new to the show, right? They made it sound like he was around when the stuff went down with the Russians. Were the Hellers even in that season? I can't remember now.

Looking on my DVR, next week's episode was not set to record. For some reason, next Monday's episode is marked as a repeat. They'll likely fix it by then, but I set it to record now just in case.

Man, your memory is horrible or you can't focus on the shows you watch.

Mark Boudreau is a new character. James Heller and Audrey haven't been around since season 6. Your talking about possibly 12-15 years since Jack last saw Audrey.

Just started airing on the West coast. Will get cracking on this in the next hour or so.

It already seems like the break has served the show well. They've scaled back the plot to a simple assassination (recalling season 1).

Speaking of previous seasons, it seems odd to recycle multiple character names; Kate & Adam. i.e. Kate Warner (s.2) and Adam (Zachary Quinto, CTU agent in s3).

Lastly, Michael Wincott? I always enjoy him but what are the odds he doesn't turn out a bad guy?

Ultimate irony, Jack's been in hiding for 4 years yet he has a GPS chip embedded in his wrist. CTU has gotten worse since the show was on last.

Anybody else pause it on Jack's bio screen that Tate Donovan is looking at?

Lots of callbacks there on the confirmed kill list.

Hell yea! Just as I remembered this show. Didn't miss a beat.

Great set of new cast. Bratt did a good job.

I'm getting the FDR polio vibe with this Heller situation (not polio itself, but the extent of it being kept from the public)

And as always, love the action.

Not really a fan of the new glowing time stamps, but that's my only complaint

Re: 24: Live Another Day -- 2 Hour Premiere -- "11:00am to 1:00pm" -- 5/05/14

Very fun 2 hours. Although I enjoyed hour 2 more than the 1st. Jack didn't say a word for literally 45 minutes of the 1st hour. I like seeing Benjamin Bratt on this.

at the intro saying that the following takes place between 11:06am and 12:00pm. Initially was surprised to not see the 24 counter at the top of the show.

Awesome Bauer kills in the 2nd hour. at Jack stabbing one of Yates men like crazy. Very cool seeing Michelle Fairly from Game of Thrones as the main villain and with her daughter as an accomplice.

As Corvin just said, I like that the overall threat seems to be smaller scale and not the sometimes over the top and sometimes convoluted plots that plagued some of the seasons.

Yvonne Strahovsky being on the show. Loved her on Chuck and I think she's a pretty good strong female lead like Annie Wersching.

That was awesome. I liked seeing the Drazens names on that last.

Interesting to hear Navarro also mention that Kim had a 2nd child with Stefan. Some of you may recall that Paul Wesley from The Vampire Diaries played Kim's husband.

I've been on and off with 24 but I introduced a lot of people to it in college, and there are great memories of gathering around every week. It's great to have it back. And what really brings it home is JokedUp's reviews from GameFAQs. I fucking love these, and he's back too:

Now with more flare around the fonts!

After completing a scavenger hunt that included killing at least 1 diplomat from every major world super power, disarming a half dozen nukes, eating the world famous 15 pound hamburger at Jill’s Meat Factory in Roanoke, West Virginia(it’s literally the first thing he did after season 8), ending the Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania, and beating both Dark Souls on the first playthrough without dying Jack Bauer went on the run for four years. It was a harrowing journey that no doubt involved banging an endless stream of hot blondes and gingers who where probably eventually murdered, just guessing. Unfortunately that journey would come to an end at the hands of Chris Partlow and some sort of combination sex toy/RC car with a camera on it.

London Calling/Blowing Up Eventually(AKA Wi-Chlo-leaks): What kind of badass creates a plan where one of the steps is literally GET CAUGHT BY THE PEOPLE CHASING ME? I don’t know, maybe the kind of man WHO FIGHTS A TRAINED CIA AGENT WITH HIS HANDS CUFFED BEHIND HIS BACK AND WINS USING THOSE CUFFED HANDS TO CHOKE A B**** OUT!!! Jack said like five things this episode and they where all awesome. I don’t know who his henchman is but he strikes me as a quiet badass type, hopefully he won’t be dead by the time I finish writing this next sketch.
Jack’s Henchman: I thought she was your friend.
Jack: *quietly stares into the distance* I don’t have any friends.
Jack’s Henchman: But… But I thought we where friends.
Jack: *quietly stares into the distance* We’re not friends.
Jack’s Henchman: We’re not? You come over every Sunday for Betty’s and I’s Game of Throne’s party. We where texting about our theory on the Others this morning!
Jack: *quietly stares into the distance* I don’t have any theories on the Others.
Jack’s Henchman: Hey, speaking of Game of Thrones wouldn’t it be awesome if it turned out Catelyn Stark was actually the evil mastermind behind all of this?
Jack: *quietly stares into the distance* Yeah, that’d be cool.

Apparently Jack Bauer was supposed to be one of the heroes in the new Godzilla movies, but the director didn’t want to make Godzilla look weak.

President AlzHeller(A Game of Drones): Even if his brain is only half functional, he’s still more competent than Bush. LOOK OUT! OUTDATED TOPICAL HUMOR!
Alternate Take: Even if he’s only got half a brain that’s still probably more than Logan’s got left! ZING! BOTCHED SUICIDE HUMOR! I don’t see the big deal, he should have said Teddy Roosevelt instead he said Franklin Delano, I’m supposed to shout my girlfriends name during sex instead I curl up into a ball and cry for three hours. Those two things are comparable. Also, Mark’s a tool. Nothing funny to say about, just ya know, f*** that guy.

A Game of Drones:That poor pilot, even without all that planted internet forum trash talk it’s a really hard story to make someone believe.
Drone Pilot: You honestly think I’d say something like that?
Commander: You also watched a movie on Netflix called Drone Strikin’ and you gave it five stars! Later that day on instagram you started following @justinbieber, @ladygaga, @littlejamesfranco, and @killyourbosswithadrone.
Drone Pilot: Gaga is a musical genius sir! She’s an artist!
Commander: No one is debating that private, Born This Way is the soundtrack to my life! What I find hard to understand is that not only did you post on your Facebook account, “Hey guys, wouldn’t it be awesome if someone killed the sergeant with one of our own drones #revokethis #jerkboss”, but you also ‘liked’ your own post and then reposted it two days later after no one else commented on it! You’re a sick son of a b****!

A JokedUp Side Note… A Side Joked: For anyone who remembers my old review style, I would usually pick out a chick from the show, obsess about her and over each review it would grow and get more disturbing. Well, I just want to let you all know I’m above that now. I’ve moved on from those old bits, matured as a writer. I’m not going to fawn over anyone from the show this season. Lily from the AT&T commercial however, YOWZA! I’ve got an unlimited data package I’d like to give her!

So What Happens This Season on 24?: In my expert opinion, people die... Lots of em. Jack kills some people.... Lots of em. I'm gonna do a review every week and make really bad jokes... Lot's of em. Get used to it! JokedUp isn't just a clever name

I'm curious, was this the storyline that was going to be used for the now abandonned (for now) 24 movie? Jack, rouge in London & Chloe have to stop an assassin trying to assassinate the US president

Fantastic return. Such a rush seeing that digital 24 and hearing Jack's voiceover intro. Plenty of action and a couple of "Dammits!"

One thing I wish they'd done is not show Chloe getting tortured before Jack rescued her. Keep it more of a mystery why he's there and also more of a surprise to see her new "dragon tattoo" getup.

Highlight of 2nd hour was seeing Jack headbutting that busybody twat. Just leave Jack alone beyotch.

Fox has gone from having Hugh Laurie on Monday nights to having Stephen Fry.

really enjoyed it. wouldn't it have been funny if when Stahovski pulled out the picture of her traitor boyfriend it was a pic of her and Chuck? lol. Any way, Jack Bauer is the fucking man. I hope this is not the last season. I could watch him saying "Damnit" and snapping necks for years to come.

Beyond awesome to have this back. Really like what they did with Chloe and Jack rescuing her.

I do have to say this: They are really overdoing it with Hannah/Yvonne being JUST LIKE JACK BAUER and THE ONLY ONE who can catch him thing. Only she would know immediately that Jack should've taken the roof, and only she would know immediately that the intel didn't come from Prague. Just a bit much. That said, at least Jack got the drop on her and headbutted her unconscious.

Still 100% happy to have this back and I'm more than willing to overlook some stuff to see Jack Bauer back on TV.
