Curious what tonight holds. I'm a book reader and they're really starting to go "off script" a bit.

Holy shit...now that's an episode!

My head is still spinning about the big reveal and how it changes everything that was set in motion beginning in the first season. Wow.

Yup. That was quite the bombshell. Littlefinger was behind it all!

Poor Sansa can't catch a break.

Love the scenes with Arya and The Hound.

Laughing at Podrick on the horse :D

As to the bombshell... Litttlefinger is really having to pay for what he set in motion at the moment.
Kat must have been unaware at how totally obsessed he was with her. He never moved on.

Nice development on each storyline and then a good action scene to end the episode.

And Jon Snow putting his sword through Karl's head

Man, the producers said this season was going to be loaded with full on bang moments almost every episode, instead of just a select few, and they weren't kidding! Had a few great "Holy shit!" moments while watching tonight.

Yes, but well deserved. Locke, too. And Rast, although I was almost hoping for Ghost to come back into frame caring his head in his mouth. Guess that would have been a little too much, though.

That was a nice reveal.

I am surprised that Sansa has stayed sane thus far.

Hodor!

I was surprised they ended his sojourn to the Nightswatch so quickly. Thought it would last a couple of more eps at the very least.

So Sansa is expected to marry her cousin? So they frown on brother-sister incest but first cousin incest is OK?

I was so scared that Hodor was going to bite it in this episode since he was featured heavily in the "previously on..." segment. Did they get Bran's cart back? That kid looks huge now. Hope he makes sure to clean that leg wound otherwise it'll get infected and he could die from that (though they already did the story with someone else).

We haven't seen the Wildings that are south of the Wall in quite awhile. What's going on with them?

Wait ... what did I miss about Littlefinger? What did we learn this week that we didn't know last week?

That he convinced Lysa to poison Jon Arryn. It was the big reveal in this episode for the non readers.

EDIT: oh and to write the letter to Cat stating that the Lannisters were responsible for the poisoning of Jon.

That's just Lysa's crazy thought. She's kind of mental, if you hadn't noticed.

Ah. I totally missed that. I probably need to rewatch this episode.

In other news, I totally invented a new cocktail tonight (3 parts Canadian whiskey, 1 part Triple sec, 1 part cream soda. It's like a creamsicle that makes you miss important GoT plot points).

Re: Game of Thrones -- "First of His Name" -- 5/04/14

Yep great episode. A few hints that make me think of what's to come that has already been foreshadowed.

I haven't read the books but here's what i gather:

Spoiler:
Jaqen H'ghar is not dead and was actually Arya's sword instructor that she thought was killed. Even The Hound makes fun of the supposed killer, which leads me to believe he made it out alive. Well, obviously he's still out there, but one of his forms was that of her sword instructor.

Podrick may be pretty useless as a squire but we know he's "gifted" and knows how to please the ladies. I think he's gonna get himself some big Brienne tail. :hump:

That Hodor kill was impressive. You could see the dude's neck bone protruding from his shoulder. It was fucked up!

So was the Jon Snow back of the head impaling. Then he pulls the sword back really fucking slow. Fatality!

Yeah, basically Littlefinger put the pieces in motion to start the war. Though he did have help in the form of the person(s) who sent the assassin after Bran Stark when he was lying comatose in his bed. I would assume that reveal will be coming, but I'm not entirely sure how they'll do it.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "First of His Name" -- 5/04/14

Lots of good stuff in this episode:

Margery/Cersei dialogue, Cersei/Oberyn dialogue, Cersei/Tywin dialogue. Hodor, Jon Snow kicking ass and shoving the sword through the mouth of the dude. Rast getting killed by Ghost (awesome), Lady Arryn is nuts, finding out littlefinger killed jon arryn and tied it into lannisters,

Spoiler:
Yeah, in the book the guy who sent the assassin was likely Joffrey who stole Tyrion's dagger. Not sure if they'll stick with that or come up with another culprit.

That Jon Snow kill was awesome. The Littlefinger reveal was interesting; i'm not quite sure what his intent would be to start a war like that though nor could he predict how all of this has turned out.
