According to my mother-in-law, HBO aired this by mistake yesterday and she's already seen it?

I'm thinking tonight is the night for something big. And I can't wait to see reactions if it is.

Also, you can get Sig Ros' version of The Rains of Castamere: http://www.amazon.com/The-Rains-of-C.../dp/B00JAJNXOW

I don't think there will be too many "RIP Joffery" comments

Not a reader of the books but I was kinda hoping he would be killed by someone's sword. I still laughed pretty loud when he started acting like an ass at the party.

Glad he went out in pain and fear - better than a sword doing the job.

13 minutes later and I am still sitting here in happy shock.

Great episode and I am not just saying that because of the ending, although that alone was more than enough. Not going to miss him at all.

I'd rather see him get the same treatment Theon is getting.

After the humiliation he suffered, I had hoped Tyrion would have that opportunity at some point.

Still, good fucking riddance, prick!

I was thinking the poisoner was Sansa, but the circumstances wouldn't make sense. That she would just happen to have the opportunity to handle his chalice and thus poison him, would be too coincidental. Likewise for Tyrion.

Not looking for the answer, just wanted to mention it.

The Premiere was better. Audio was choppy at times. Dinklage's acting isn't very subtle this season so far. They need to give the Rains of Castamere song a rest for a while now.

I understand that this is what happens in the book but after 3+ seasons it just didn't translate as well to TV. Not nearly satisfying enough.

My money is on Prince Pay His Debts (Oberon?). Does this mean Cersei is Queen regent again, since the marriage was not consummated? I'd be a little worried if I was the next dude set to marry Margaery...

I think it's because it was at the beginning of a new season in the second episode. After a long break, even though yeah we all hate him, not experiencing his assholishness in awhile might kind of take away from the satisfaction. Just my theory.

Re: Game of Thrones -- "The Lion and the Rose" -- 4/13/14

I thought it was great. I kind of knew it was coming, although not how it would happen, but the surprise was lessened. I think a lot of viewers who haven't read the books will be shocked and delighted. I liked that it came out of nowhere without much flourish. It's only episode 2, so this is clearly going to lead to much bigger things. I think rocket is on the mark that it's early so it didn't feel as big.

Would have been nice if it happened earlier in the episode so we got more sense of the aftermath though.
