Not a book reader.
When they were melting the swords in the beginning, I really thought they were being added to the iron throne since it is made up of swords of the conquered...

Just watched one of those recently. She's actually gotten better looking since then. She's clearly had a nose job.
Well clearly you were wrong.....

But, going from the show.. I would assume that the second sword, since it was smaller, is/was going to be given to Tyrion.

They made it pretty clear last night that Valyrian steel is pretty much the most awesome thing ever, so I doubt Tywin would waste it on the throne or (even worse) his dwarf son.

record ratings for Game of Thrones premiere last night.
It received 6.6 million viewers and 8.2 million counting the two replays.
Even when excluding the online HBOGo plays, this is huge for HBO.

Well-done depiction of the melting down of Ned Stark's sword that was made of valuable Valyrian steel. And because it had been a Stark family heirloom, it was nice symbolism too.
So the original sword was remade into 2 swords and Jaime got one. Surprised they left out the other one - I guess it'll be shown next week.

with all the attention to the nashville/treme guy being cast, isn't the Mountain recast every year? i remember one guy who looked like Abe Lincoln with an extra dose of Marfans.
Tyrion needs to keep his ho in check. her acting like a jealous 12 year old is not smart, and looks like the jig may be up via Cercei's spy.
i have no idea how they even cram so much into one episode. i know they cannot afford to do more episodes, but god would that help. it's great, but you want more.
nice move opening with some frontal nudity in the first ten minutes. +5 to the roll for boner check using anachronistic styling, rather than a merkin.
cannot wait to rewatch episode to see what i missed.

The series ratings started off kind of soft but yeah the ratings are crazy high for HBO. I was going to say the guys in charge of programming probably got a nice bonus off of that, but instead they were promoted to EVPs.

Favorite moments:
Oberyn: "two more girls. Girls, yes?"
Bronn delightedly nods yes
Tyrion, disconcerted, shakes his head no.
Jaime waving "bye" to Qyburn.
Lady Olenna's reaction on first sight of Brienn.
The careful reveal of the true size of Daenerys' army.
Arya slowly stabs Polliver with a little grin. This is a 13 year old girl.

It's not so much the different look that bothers me as much as the different personality. New Daario displayed known of the charisma, cockiness, bravado, and mysteriousness that Daario is known for. Granted it was only a couple scenes we saw, but just as a first impression I was let down.

need to give this out. I mean if
someone really likes this show they should just go
to their provider and sign up for HBO. Doing this will
send the right message that we appreciate
this type of show. Plus putting out personal account
info can be pretty risky.

Agreed. The original actor gave off an arrogance the was backed by fighting skills and good looks. Yet he still seemed honorable on some level.
This new guy is like a sleazier rip off of Bronn. But hey, it's only been one ep.

I don't think we should be that concerned if the casting was wrong, remember they ditched the next 'Mountain' after everyone felt he wasn't Mountain enough. So this year's Mountain actually feels like a Mountain.

But yeah on a given day I would not just hand out my log-in to some casual acquaintance who is too cheap to subscribe to HBO and then he or she can pass it off to another person etc. They will have access to all your personal information on your providers website including address, phone number, bank accounts. So much potential for identity theft or fraud.
