What God backlash? I haven't heard anything about that, just a few snide comments on huffpo, etc.

Louis is great at standup, but he's not very good at sketch comedy. This was a weak episode IMO. I really don't like the baby skit.

Yeah, if I were Lorne Michaels and were forced to re-invent SNL, I'd keep only:

Kate McKinnon
Vanessa Bayer
Cecily Strong
Taran Killam
Sasheer Zemata

That's it.

But we're a FAR cry from anything with the likes of Mike Myers, Will Ferrell, or Eddie Murphy.

I would keep Jay Pharoah too.

At first I thought this commercial was a digital short.

I'd keep Beck Bennett, too. He hasn't had time to establish himself, but he's the most promising out of the new crop.

Baby adult guy makes me laugh.

The news is really awkward and i dont see it getting better.
It's like they come on and read a few bad jokes and then it's over.

And in the first SNL related April Fools' gag of the day... George Takei says he was finally invited to host this season, but no date has been set. Read about it at The Huffington Post:

Although it would be kind of funny.

Beck Bennett is the most recognizable of the new cast due to those AT&T ads, but yeah it doesn't seem like he gets used very much.

still not sure why Beck Bennett wasn't transitioned to the Weekend Update desk. He seems like he'd be a perfect fit.

Because they needed another white guy that isn't funny.

For whatever reason, their M.O. for the past several anchors has been to use the show's head writer who doesn't appear in other sketches. Tina Fey, Seth Meyers and now Colin Jost.

Re: SNL -- 03/29/14 -- H: Louis C.K. -- MG: Louis C.K.

My cast that should stay:

Vanessa Bayer
Taran Killam
Kate McKinnon
Bobby Moynihan
Nasim Pedrad
Cecily Strong
Kenan Thompson
Beck Bennett
Kyle Mooney
Mike O'Brien
Noël Wells

My cast that should go:

Aidy Bryant
Jay Pharoah
Colin Jost
John Milhiser
Brooks Wheelan
Sasheer Zamata

BTW, I thought that Louie CK's monologue was brilliant. The show could only have been downhill from there...and it pretty much was with awful writing.

Already throwing out Sasheer? I think she's been great so far.
