Interesting comment made on TD, the fire may have been the house Beth and Daryl set on fire.

Great episode. The beginning felt like a Fallout (videogame) intro, I was expecting someone to say "War. War never changes".

Just read in Twitter that they talked about this in the Talking Dead. Duh!

That's what we thought here.

I didn't think the show had the balls to do that. Crazy.

Although Tyrese still whining about Karen was pretty bad. Wish he wasn't such a wimp on the show.

I don't even know who Karen was. Was she in episodes?

She was his girlfriend who got sick and Carol killed and burned her.

She was one of survivors from Woodbury.

So glad they killed Lizzie. Truly an annoying girl. Life is not fair when she survived longer than many many others.

Readers of the comics should be surprised of the developments between the sisters (the brother in the comic totally disemboweled his brother)... but Carol's confession added a whole other level to the drama.

Poor Carol. She's been through so much. Abusive husband, lost her daughter, had to kill the 2 in the prison because she felt nobody else would, got kicked out of the cool club, had to kill Lizzie.. etc..

But she moves on. She's probably the toughest character on the show.

For those interested, here's a blog comparing the tv show kids (Lizzie & Mika) to the much younger siblings in the comics (Ben & Billy):

In Tyrese's defense, it was his girlfriend, and she wasn't bitten; she was murdered, at least in his eyes. Also, it was only about a week ago in the timeline.

Crazy episode, best so far since they left the prison.

They found a house with a well, had pecans, an easy chair, and some of the comforts of the "before" life. Even Tyreese mentioned how odd it was that he was in a living room. They thought they were going to settle down on the homestead and live happily ever after. Too bad the little girl came unhinged.

I was kind of hoping to see Mika come back as a zombie.

I was kind of hoping they would tie Lizzie up next to Mika and then head down the road.

Rough stuff. I never saw Lizzie as evil just horribly, horribly fucked up. And thusly, a threat.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "The Grove" -- 3/16/14

The real sad part is that Lizzie didn't even get a chance to turn.

But jeez that was a brutal stretch of show. I mean you had to know that family dynamic couldn't last, and shows like this don't want to carry too many children anyway. And you know Rick's kids are safe!

And hell, with Terminus coming up, there kinda needed to be a thinning of the herd. I can only imagine the next two episodes are going to be heavy in that department as well.

Great episode last night, and very tough to watch whenever you kill kids in cold blood like that.

I think what makes this show great is that it goes against all the rules of TV, and your mind is not programmed to believe what eventually will happen on screen. Even though Lizzie had to go by the end of the episode, I kept saying to myself, "No way are they going to kill BOTH kids in one episode?" Pretty ballsy if you ask me.

Many of my friends have complained about the last few episodes because the plot is kind of stuck in neutral, but I think the show needed to slow down and re-introduce the characters to us. The 2nd part of Season 4 is all about fleshing out the characters and kind of where they are at post-apocalypse and how they have changed (Or giving us a backstory on some of them like Darryl and Michone). I think this will pay off later when the shit hits the fan again, and we see their motives of the cause and effect of the different situations.

Once Carol mentioned that Mika didn't have a mean bone in her body I knew she was a goner ..

As to the fire being the Darryl fire, that is most likely it, and shows just how close (but far) they are.

Better stuff this week (even with the Of Mice and Men lift). They do need to give Tyreese more to do than his 'WTF White People' face.

I'm glad they didn't go down a road where they coupled-off Tyrese and Carol, without Carol coming clean on the prison killings. Lazy screenwriting pitfall avoided.
