The Americans - "The Walk In" - 3/12/14

Episode 3 / Production #203 - "The Walk In" (Airs March 12, 10:00 pm e/p) - Philip and Elizabeth complete their next mission - but not without complications - and Philip's fears about Elizabeth's readiness for action deepen. Stan tracks the KGB walk-in which leads to much praise at work and a deepening of his attachment to, and dependence on, Nina. Meanwhile, Paige snoops into her mother's family background and Oleg begins to scrutinize Nina's secret operation. Written by Stuart Zicherman; directed by Constantine Makris.

Whoa, no comments yet?

I liked this one, though the Paige snooping is getting a little tired as a storyline. Still the scene with Derrick in the warehouse was awesome. Loved the flashbacks as well -- very poignant and enlightening.
They use licensed songs sparingly on this show, but when they do, they hit it out of the park. Love that Peter Gabriel song - haven't listened to it in years.

Stan falling in love, wtf. We'll see how that goes. Keri Russell looks so menacing with the blondish wig on. Man she scared that poor guy to death almost. The Paige snooping around thing I hope slows down. I don't want this getting into Homeland territory. I have a feeling the guy that works with Nina, hockey tickets guy, is going to be more trouble than he should be. He keeps popping up too much unwanted. I like that Elizabeth didn't give him the letter that was probably the right decision in more ways than one.

The preseason reviews of this show indicated that it goes to another level this year. I loved the show last year and I still love it, but I'm not really seeing it going to a new level yet.

I miss Claudia (has she officially been written out of the show?), but I'm really hoping that the new "Aunt Helen" character can make me forget about Margo Martindale.

I saw Claudia in the clips for next weeks show. I do know that she will be in this season it just won't be as big as it was last season from my understanding.

Yeah, frankly no good reason to give it to him. Lets kick him while he's down and tell him his parents are traitors (because he only sees himself as an american). And operationally it would be a huge risk. It's not like these kids could ever serve a purpose for the homeland, they'd never be trusted.

I do wonder if all the snooping is going to lead them to telling paige whats up, after seeing how crushed the other kid is, not knowing why his parents and sister died.

Yep. Good flashback too. Let the kid remember his parents as how he knew them.

Elizabeth's decision to destroy the letter reveals her feelings on the matter with her own children's involvement in their parent's true identities. I wasn't a big fan of her "menacing" that worker. In real life, Keri is a wisp of a woman and I don't think any middle-aged man in 1982 would have been intimidated by her, no matter how big a crowbar she wields.

There is a really nasty, emotional storyline they could run with where the Soviets discover the kids learn something they shouldn't.

They may go there. Paige, the daughter is going out with her new friend. And they mentioned that the KGB is now watching after their kids.
