Those are some nice(Not really a spoiler, just being respectful to those who haven't watched the trailer)
Spoiler:
mountain ranges. Pretty sure I recognized that indoor mall shot, too.

If you just thought that was a great song choice ... that and an Easter egg ...

They really nailed the locations from the game.

That looked like (not a major spoiler)

Spoiler:
Ashely Johnson, who voiced Ellie in the game, for a quick second holding the baby. Troy Baker, who voiced Joel, and her are supposed to appear

Looks good. I haven’t played either of the games yet but would like to eventually. Thing is my fiancée and I just started watching another post apocalyptic type show (The Walking Dead) so not sure if we’ll want to start another similar-ish series.

It's at a very high 80 on Metacritic

Alan Sepinwall liked it a lot as well.

I just replayed the first game and equally amazing on the second playthrough. Started the second game this week and, wooah, 2 hours in and did not see THAT coming.

Spoiler:
This supposed to cover the first game, which means the second season would be a complete bummer if the show is as good as the reviews paint it. That was pretty shocking and is almost a Negan moment. Might be a hard sell for non-gamers that get into the show, especially if it splits time between characters like part 2 after that part occurs.

So, is the show going to be one big spoiler if I have yet to play the two games? I’d hate to miss a great show, but I also want to play games in the not too distant future.

Season 1 of the show is said to follow the game very very closely.

If the first season covers the entire first game, then yes, you’ll get a massive spoiler if you watch the show first.

Yeah, I'm torn. I really want to watch it as it comes out, but I also want to play the game unspoiled and I've read that there will be a PC version of the game available in March, which is soon enough that I will probably wait.

Aren't the games like a decade old at this point? (I haven't played video games in like 15 years, so I don't know what has been referred to is something newer)

June 2013 release for 1st game
June 2020 release for 2nd game
So yes, just about a decade ago. TBH I would play the game first before I watched the show.

I agree with Deftones, play these games. The first one is one of my favorite gaming experiences. The story and acting and score are all amazing.

I am only about 4 hours into the second game and it's different due to a major spoiler I won't state here but thus far still maintains the high level of quality (especially acting) as the first.

Just finished Part 1 and the Left Behind add-on last night. The game was amazing, makes me hyped for the show.

Season 1 will only cover Part 1 correct? Or will I need to play Part 2 before the show starts to avoid getting the game spoiled?

The moment with Joel and Ellie where they find

Spoiler:
the giraffe

is one of my favourite gaming moments I've experienced.

I hope that's in the show

I can't imagine it wouldn't be. One of the more compelling visual moments of the game.

The news of playing games first while entirely true, I’m sure, really blows. It’ll take me years.

Why would it take you years? It's not a 40+ hour RPG or a 100+ hour Ubisoft game. No open world to explore. Even for you, the 20-25 hours the game takes wouldn't be that long.

20-25 hours to most is 100-150 for me. hell, i've played God of War for about 30 game time hours and only on Chapter 8.
