I'm going to have to watch that again because it feels like I missed a bunch of things.
I liked the twist with the truth about the gun fight.

Channel changed. Will turn back in for the replay later. Wish we could just get a marathon of the final episodes.

Damn this show just gets better and better week after week. Absolutely amazing hour of television. I liked the twist about what happened with the confrontation between Rust and Marty and Reggie Ledoux too. Also it seems almost certain now that Rust isn't the killer. I had ruled him out but I think the fact that they're leading us on to suspect him rules him out now for sure. I do wonder what it was that Rust was up to though for those eight years. I'm wondering if he has the Yellow King linked to someone higher up in his department and was trying to take him down but couldn't because of their position or something. Maybe his storage shed has evidence that he's been keeping to build his case with and he's worried it'll be tampered with in some way.
Also, Mondo had some pretty cool posters made up for the series. Unfortunately they're all already sold out.

They pointed towards Tuttle again. I don't know if that helps or hurts my Scooby Doo case.

I love the use of unreliable narration in this show. It is a really effective device that they are maximizing in this show. I still Hart is the killer, but maybe it is the religious task force guy. There is also part of me that thinks Marty is still a cop, and just playing this role for whatever reason. My guess would be he finds something of Rusts in that building, and decides to hide it for some reason. Remember the Ledoux lead came just as Marty started to investigate the school.

This show is my new obsession. With how meticulous this show is, it will be great to go back and watch the season again knowing the who, what and why. My current theory:

Another fascinating hour of television. Absolutely loved the sequence where they spanned several years of Cohle and Hart's lives - the stuff with Hart's family was very well done. We can tell Cohle wasn't content so not at all surprised something's been brewing behind the scenes.
I couldn't understand what Ledoux was spouting in those final minutes, but I told my wife I never heard a confession. Pretty much expected I guess that he wasn't the true killer.

Based on what is going on in the Walking Dead, my guess is the killer is Marty's youngest daughter. She's crazy.

This show is easily an excellent replacement for Breaking Bad in terms of quality. I am glued to the TV when it is on and I cannot wait for this to come on each week (Justified too, as someone else mentioned).
