I'm saying that some people, not many though, try to jump into a show without having seen any previous episodes. In the case of The Originals, it's heavily serialized and the premiere would not make any sense without some context.

The Originals is on Netflix now for those who need to catch up.

It looks like Phoebe Tonkin had some work done over the break from last season. There is nothing wrong with it, but it's noticeable in close-ups.

There is a season 2 thread, don't know why you chose to bump this random thread from last season.

It was a mistake, our dear site's search engine leaves much to be desired.;)

I'm not sure this body-jumping arc with their mother is the right way to go. Vampire Diaries fell in love with the idea using Silas this way, but it leads to very erratic consistency for each character.

I think the Originals has generally improved since its first season, despite the loss of Rebekah. They aren't wasting as much time on character development for the newer characters.

So for this current episode why did Klaus kill his father? He said he did it for Hope. I didn't understand why he was a danger to Hope.

I'm guessing because he knew she was alive.

Because he knew Hope was alive. Since he does not trust him, he would never forgive himself if someone else found out. Aside from Elijah and Haley (and obviously Rebekah) I think everyone else thinks she's dead.

Looks like we have a new blonde vampire. Cammie had some of Haley's blood in her system and her neck was snapped...

A WAR BREWING BETWEEN THE SIRE LINES - Months following their violent and deadly showdown with the powerful witch Dahlia, a rift continues to divide brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies), while Freya (Riley Voekel) searches for a way to heal their fractured bond and return their family to the way they once were. Re: The Originals (The CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 10/8/15

I'd hate to be a newcomer to the Originals. I've been around since they first appeared on Vampire Diaries and can still barely keep track of their overly elaborate mythos.

Season two got overly complicated with pointless machinations for my taste. I hope they streamline the basic vampires versus werewolves conflict.

The mythology on this series is very convoluted. You can easily get lost.

The body-hopping hasn't helped matters. I wish they would cut that out, even if it means deep-sixxing characters like Rebekah.

Re: The Originals (The CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 10/8/15

Yeah I'm not a fan of body-hopping or returning from the dead. Dead should remain dead. You lose the impact of a main character dying if you know it's possible they could return any time down the road.

But they killed off so many of the Originals in TVD, that all that was left was three when they started this show. Now Claire Holt is gone so without body-hopping you've got a show about 'The Originals' that only features two of them. haha.

I wish Claire Holt would come back. Show definitely lacks something without her.

Re: The Originals (The CW) -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 10/8/15

I liked the first episode. I wouldn't have minded if the entire episode was in olden times. Looks like they will continue with the complicated plot. We have a witch turf war. Werewolves being hunted. Vampire Joker causing trouble. Baby vampire drama. Some kind of weird fight club. Then you tie all these plots together to make a mess.

I had no idea they added Taylor Cole to the show. Having missed large chunks of the past two seasons, I decided to give it one more shot.

They are not really bright for attacking her. Missed the memo of what she can do or think they have the numbers.
