Synopsis:

Under pressure to land a suspect in the Lange murder, Quesada warns Hart and Cohle that they might be replaced by three detectives from a new task force. The pair lobbies for extra time to follow up on a lead that takes them from a rural cathouse to an incinerated church. With his marriage to Maggie already strained by work, Hart finds respite away from home.

Written by Nic Pizzolatto; directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

While I very much enjoyed last week's episode from a dramatic view point, if the screencaps floating around are any indication, tonight's episode will truly provide an "oh my" moment.

A bit off topic, but I'm presuming McConaughey made this right after or around Dallas Buyers Club. He is noticeably waifish looking in this series.

^ assuming its from the screencaps that leaked online, she was the lead in Texas Chainsaw 3D

Also, she's Annabeth in the Percy Jackson movies.

Yea I believe he started losing weight before filming TWOWS, then did DBC and then did this.

Good god almighty. I just watched the last Percy Jackson movie and noticed they were desperately trying to make her look younger. It was noticeable that she was sexy despite their efforts, but I had no idea she had that body under there. Jesus.

I love this show, too bad we likely only get one season with Hart and Cohle. Cohle may be one of the most interesting television characters in a long time to me and McConaughey continues to impress me with his performance. His character definitely has a strange but interesting past. I think the show wants us to believe that Cohle may be involved in the murders but that it's a red herring. It just seems too obvious and they're trying to throw out a bunch of false leads to throw us off.

Nothing really big in regards to the case happened tonight other than the two detectives continuing their investigation and the ending with the church and the drawing on the wall. I was still glued to the show the entire time despite nothing major happening though. It felt like this episode was just more about character building than anything.

This episode answered what likely happens with Marty and Maggie eventually, I wonder if
Spoiler:
Rust eventually reveals to Maggie that he knows Marty is cheating on her which leads to her splitting up with him as well as ends the partnership of Rust and Marty. It looks like something may happen next week with Cohle and Maggie.

Also, dear lord is Alexandra Daddario gorgeous.

It's only 8 episodes, so I will probably stick with it, but the show is just not working for me. I seem to be in the minority as most people who post here really like it.

Oh well, I still have the last 2 seasons of Breaking Bad on BluRay to finish up this winter before Game of Thrones starts, so don't feel too bad for me!

I think the episode title was quite fitting.

Having just watched "Banshee" it threw me for a second seeing Lili Simmons (Rebecca) as the young prostitute. And yes, the "scene" was a jaw-dropper for sure.

This show went down a notch for me. I love the characters but the plot needs to be better. I didn't understand why they didn't check out the church once they found the flyer in the diary. It seems like that would be an important thing to check out immediately, especially considering the nature of the crime.

But isnt the detective in denial of this case's Religion connection? Although he was already believing in the ritual aspect of the crime, he didnt buy the Christian Church/Cult connection...

Harrelson's character is doing the standard, "lets round up hooker customers" thing.

I think since its 8 episodes, this might be one of those shows you should binge watch. I know, I havent been pulled in completely. Its just that Matthew and Woody are two great actors or at least I like them a lot to give it a shot.
