Enlisted on Fox
Recorded and watched it this morning. A soldier in Afghanistan gets demoted after punching out a superior, and ends up at a support command in Florida, where his two screw-brothers are stationed. He is put in charge of a unit of misfits. I thought it was pretty funny, it had a modern-day Stripes vibe. Looking forward to seeing this again next week.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
I thought it was OK. Nothing special. I'll give it a few more episodes... I kind of get a "Scrubs" vibe from it, which I like.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
Friday night, 9:30.
Yeah, this will totally be back next Season. Fox can pair it with 'Til Death, Raising Hope and Brothers! |
Re: Enlisted on Fox
Didn't care for this at all. Can't see it lasting very long if it doesn't improve.
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
Thought it was decent. I know it's not gonna last but I'll enjoy watching it on my DVR. Poor Geoff can't find a show that sticks.
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
I'll give it a shot. Some of the jokes landed but others were just trying way too hard.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
Had some laughs
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
This had me at Keith David!
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
I laughed more than I was expecting to.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
FYI, looks like Enlisted and Raising Hope are swapping time slots starting this Friday.
Enlisted seems to be getting decent praise, but the first two episodes didn't do much for me. |

Re: Enlisted on Fox
Yeah, thanks for the heads up.
Really enjoy the show, sad to see it go. |
Re: Enlisted on Fox
Being a show on Fox, of course they have to show the episodes out of order.
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
That was so funny. Especially the mustache bit. That was so wrong...
|
Re: Enlisted on Fox
I don't get the logic of a network. Why spends the millions of dollars to film and promote a show if you are just gonna bury it on Friday with almost 0 chance to succeed.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
I'm currently working my way through the season. Not too great but i dont have anything else in my "half hour show" queue.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
Might get a reprieve on Yahoo!
http://www.deadline.com/2014/07/enli...rn-yahoo-deal/ EXCLUSIVE: Having just revived NBC’s Community, Yahoo might be looking to do the same with another recently cancelled cult broadcast comedy series, Fox’s Enlisted. I hear talks are under way between the online giant and Enlisted producer 20th Century Fox TV for a second season of the military series, created by Kevin Biegel, on Yahoo’s streaming service Yahoo screen. Sources cautioned that the conversations are preliminary and it its unclear whether they would result in a deal. Much like Community, Enlisted has a passionate and loyal following, something that is attractive to digital platforms which crave core groups of passionate fans. Interestingly, following the news of Yahoo’s deal for another season of Community, Enlisted fans targeted Yahoo Screen with a major save-our-show campaign, pitching the service a Community/Enlisted double feature. Enlisted – a slapstick single-camera comedy revolving around three brothers and a group of misfits on a small Army base — was well received but mired in low ratings. It never got a fair shake at Fox, slated on the low-traficked Friday nights. Although then-Fox chairman Kevin Reilly vowed to stick with the show for its 13-episode order, it was pulled prematurely. Biegel rallied the fans to recruit more viewers for the final four burn-off episodes but that didn’t help clinch a renewal at Fox for the series starring Geoff Stults, Chris Lowell and Parker Young. 20th TV has experience in successfully bringing back cancelled cult comedies on a digital platform, teaming with Netflix for a new season of Arrested Development last year. Yahoo has been investing aggressively in original content, signing deals with Katie Couric and former New York Times tech columnist David Pogue to create original programming that could draw in regular viewers. But unlike subscription-based Netflix and Amazon, Yahoo has been betting on advertising to generate most of the revenues for its programming of all kinds. |
Re: Enlisted on Fox
The show wasn't without it's flaws, but what worked, worked really well. It deserves to be given a fair chance.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
I'd be open to this. The show wasn't great, but it was definitely enjoyable and deserved to find its groove.

Re: Enlisted on Fox
Here's hoping it's picked up. Wife and I enjoy the show a lot.
